I've seen references to changing them, but I haven't seen anyone say their's has failed. here is a set of them on E-Bay, factory parts, the guy wants $102 plus four or five bucks for shipping.

I had sort of the same question. I bought myself a spare transmission (5-AT) with the near certain knowledge that mine is going to blow sooner or later. While I was looking for one I ran across that listing. It was tempting. It wasn't a lot of money and I have a transmission sitting on a pallet - I could change the things in less than 2 minutes. But then I asked myself, "why?". I couldn't come up with a good answer.

u can take off the pressure switches and just clean them up and ohm/continuity test them.

if they are within spec and clean then there's no point replacing.

odds are it's gunked up or crap is lodged in the aculumulator or something of that nature.

How difficult are these to replace? Mine was throwing a code with the 3rd switch being the issue.

Very easy. Turn the wheel all the way to the left and look behind the splash guard behind the wheel on the transmission. Kind of hard to show without a pic but I think there is a pic on the 3G TL thread where this came from.

Very close. They share almost the same tranny housing so its in the same location. If you look closely on the tranny, there's a 3 and 4 where the clutch switches are so that you know which one is the right one.

Well i decide to replace 3rd and 4th Switches and i noted right away my car does not slam from 3rd to 4th now so im really happy about it and i hope it stay like that for a while> Well i don't have any picture but if you don't know witch switch go where i can tell you that the 3rd gear pressure switch (Part# 28600-p7z-003) is cover by a plastic peace, and the 4th gear pressure switch (Part# 28600-p7w-003) is about 6 inches to the left. Oh yea i when to the honda dealer they going to charge me twenty dollar more per switch then the Inskip Acura Dealer.

I highly doubt those switches will make your tranny fail, members switch them out so that the shift quality is better.

switches fail because they get clogged from crap. cleaning them and reinstalling them will help it live longer. prolly should take them out once a year and clean them.

i dont know but if the switches is bad then it make the car shift bad and that lead to tranny fail, that what i think, but ofcouse auto tranny go bad in time even if you not beat on it " alot". But try to change fluit and clean them switches out and it should last for a while,so far i replace the new switch and the car shifted better for now and see how long it going to last for me ......

Rather than that I switched to all Redline ATF type F synthetic and a tranny cooler, so far so good.

Can we get a post of the specs?
Thanks again for the info on cleaning.
