Stock head unit blank
Hey guys,
my non nav stock head unit is not working what so ever, not even asking for the lock code. I had to rewire my amp, i cut the harnesses off but found replacements and rewired them. all the wires are connected to the appropriate pins.
1. would anyone know whats causing the head unit to fail?
2. if I cant get the stock head unit working im going to upgrade to an aftermarket nav head unit. will that be able to function without the stock amp?
3. could someone point me to a good thread/link that shows how to install an aftermarket nav head unit, ive been having trouble finding one.
4. also will i be able to find the wire harnesses to install the new nav with the existing acura wiring?
I already have a 1000W aftermarket amp with subs.

This is beyond my knowledge, but using an aftermarket navigation unit is a big pain in the ass on these cars because of the work involved moving the other components that are attached to the stock unit.
My recommendation is to double check those connections and also pull the stock unit out and double check the connections on the back side. I have never heard of one of these just stop working, but that doesn't mean it can't happen.
Post up when you find the problem.

I dont think it has to do with the wiring in the back of the unit, however i was told to check all of my fuses so im going to do that tomorrow, I'm hoping it works haha
