5 new door scratches...I mean WTF, why cant you morons open ur damn door better?! =T my nhb tsx shows them like they've won a beauty pagent or something...I used scratch X for a while which got it to hide at a good number of angles, then waxed with some polymer...sigh...

Can't wait till summer to learn how to use a Porter Orbtier.

i just noticed a ding with a scratch on my drivers side rear door.

i don't even know when i got it. i took the car through the car wash the other day, parked the car on the driveway and saw it.

sucks, but, what can you do...

Meh, I just ingore them now... too many to count. I find it a lot less stressful when you don't worry about those things. After my first big ding on my car, it followed with like 5 door dings all over, scratches don't affect me

cars are meant to be hit...and one reason i got my car was i am too damn lazy to walk to high school before, so i parked at crowded area...also that way, it prevents break in...

one day, someone is gonna hit your car, then if it hits your door or partr of it, problem solved!! you get a new one!

We have assigned parking at our complex, and in the garage we're grouped in 3s. I unfortunately got the middle space. The people who park to the right of me have an Accord, and because there is a pillar to the right of them, they don't always park far enough into their space.

In fact, the past couple of days they were over the line. So I pulled into my spot, decided that there's no way I can open my door and not hit the Miata on my left, and no way the Accord can open the driver's door, and end up parking in one of the 2 handicapped spot that are never used. An IS300 frequents the other spot and he doesn't have a handicapped tag either, and figure it's not like the space is going to be used anyhow. One of the ladies who works at the leasing office saw me and said it was alright and that the towing company knows not to tow from those spots, so whee I lucked out =)

The best thing for me is parking at the furthermost space in parking garages and just walk further. Sometimes the garage is pretty full and I squeeze in to these overly-narrow spaces. I think I might have gotten my first ding. Well, like someone already said, it's going to happen.

I haven't gotten any touch-up paint, but I do want to do that sometime. The main thing is to make sure that it doesn't get down to the metal, where rust will set in. So, a big nick needs attention, but for the scrapes, yeah, buff it out as best you can and live with it.

I was careful with my other car. One time someone was painting a building downtown, and the paint drifted over a thousand cars when the wind picked up. Including mine. WHOOPS. So I had a detailer work on it, but there were still tons of dots in the paint. I spent like 3 hours working on the hood. Finally, got it back to looking great! A week or 2 later, and the front of my car had to be repainted due to an accident. AUGH!

So, I guess the moral to the story is that you just can't win.

Hah thats nothing... some IDIOT parked next to me the other day, and hit my door when he opened his door WHEN I WAS IN MY CAR! Luckily, there were no visible scratches, of course my car was a bit dirty because it rained like 20 mins before I parked the car. Anyway, I screamed at the guy for about a minute, and checked the damage etc etc, and yeah let him go. If there was one scratch man that guy would've been SOL hardcore

The thing was...my car was only in 1/2 of the entire space, I parked it 1/2 in the space, 1/2 in the empty area next to it. And i go back and see a damn white minivan right next to me...as if i created more space for him...

But any nhb in this thread? Scratches on colors isn't as bad...but black...man it just shows...

If anyone has a black ipod nano or something you'll understand what i mean...one scratch = sticks out like a sore thumb...

At least now im gonna force myself to learn how to use a PC.

im not gonna lie, if there is a scratch, or dint in my car from a parking space i will key the shit outta the car next to me (if im pretty sure they did it)...i mean if they dont care enough to watch what there doing, then i dont care either....also FYI, older maximas have doors so thin you can pop your key through the skin......ooppps, did i say that out loud

oh i feel you on this one. i hate it when people can't respect other people's cars. i come down to my car at the parkinglot at school and i backed into my spot, and there is a HUGE dent in the front. like im talking someone hit it going about 15mph. cuz bumpers can be bumped and if someone had just knocked it, nothign wouldve happened. but dont worry, its a parkinglot, and a school parking lot at that. it happens.
