Synthetic Oil Change??

I'm doing the first oil change on my 2000 TL-P since I've purchased it..I put about 1k on it and it has 56k miles.

-I want to switch to synthetic.
-What is the proper procedure: I am not sure what kind of oil the previous owners used but the manual says to replace every 7,500 miles...
-Does this mean that it already uses Synthetic from Acura???

-If it is just regualr how can i "SAFTLEY" SWITCH OVER!!??

Just drain and fill, its that simple...

Change the filter and choose what type of syn oil you want to use, I use Royal Purple or Mobil 1.

IM NOT AN IDIOT...someone told me that i had to slowly switch over to synthetic by slowly adding a little more synthetic to a normal blend every oil change or by using a synthetic blend then go full snyth..

-Reason they gave me: something to do with seals around bearings that have to be broken down before sythetic or somethings idk.

Acura does not have synthetic oil. Today's conventional oils can go 7,500 miles under normal operating conditions, so that interval is realistic.

ANC297 is right, but it sounds like you want to believe the first opinion you got, so why ask again? That "reason" is partially correct. Synthetic oil will affect the seals, but not break them down...that would be bad. You just can't change back after going synthetic because of the way the seals are affected.

Sorry I went off like that..I really do appreciate your quick responses.

-I just like to really take good care of my TL, and the guy at advanced auto was confusing me with all this switching of to synthetic oil procedures that i have never heard of.

-LAST THING:So I can go buy mobile ONE synthetic with good filter and change over w/o any problems? (i just need some reassurance)

All you need to do is buy the oil and filter. Drain the old oil and add the new. Nothing special needs to be done.
