Do the 02 and 03 TL have the latch system

I have a 99TL which does not have them and I want to retrofit them into my car.

Look through this site and tell me what section they are on. I looked at the rear seat and rear tray section and can't find them.

http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org

I'm looking for the four metal latches that are in between the seat bottom and back that you can attach a car seat to.

I'm talking about this, the anchor latch system, NOT the tether.

Sure about that? I believe my father-in-laws 02 TL has two metal u-shaped hooks burried in between the seat bottom and back that you attach the latch system from a car seat to.

Here's what I'm talking about.

well i know that my 2000 doesnt have them, and i have always used the seat belt to hold the bottom half in while using the tether to attach the top. i dont see them in the picture diagram. i know the center and the sides are different and the only ones shown in the pic are the upper deck tray area

Yeah I don't have the tether mounts either. When I strap my kid in, the seat is very loose. If all else fails, I'll get a set of brackets that work on my wife's Altima and retrofit them to my car.

Yeah if I had somewhere to attach the tethers that might work.

I have the same problem with the 2001. I spent some time with Acura and all 2002 and newer cars have the latch system. I was hoping to buy the parts and install my self, but the system is welded onto the floor pan and only can be purchased by getting a new tub. Not being a mechanical engineer and not knowing what kind of loads most crashes cause I am not willing to create my own latch system and can only hope I do not crash with my Son in the car.

Thanks lizard. My only concern is that the car seat rocks too much since I don't have a place to tether or latch the seat. He doesn't ride in my car much, but enough to make me worried that it might be a problem.

My son weighs 30 lbs and can get the seat rockin pretty good. I put some material down that is supposed to be used to hold rugs on the floor. It is not sticky like tape but more of a spongy friction material that I put under the entire car seat and it helped a little bit.

I have an 03 TLS and it has the full LATCH system for all three positions in the rear seat. This gives you the bracket on the rear deck and one on either side of each seat position. I can't recall if the center position shares the seat barckets with the two sides or if they are separate - it's been a few years since I needed to use them.

Final answer is that the 02-03 TL's have them. When I put the car seat in there and cinched it down properly it literally became part of the seat, it did not move at all.

Hope that helps. I am not sure if it is something you can retrofit in there or not.
