do you still have the owner's manual/folder thing; there was a separate "warranty" booklet that you could show them if you still got it (and i know it is in there too; cause i doable checked the wording on the warranty itself, due to needing mine done)
be willing to call up corporate honda/acura

I had mine replaced, but it was still under warranty. I wonder how difficult it would be to get one from a junk yard and replace it yourself or have a garage install it.

edit: also lookie what i found... (the book i was originally talking about but in PDF format; and it is from Acura themselves, under their myacura.com website; which you should sign up for if you have not already)

WHY?, they are all going to be on the weaker side retracting, and seat belts are one time use items in a crash anyways

do you mean the "pre-tensioner" completely wrong part of the system, that piece is part of the airbag system more so, and deploys in an accident, otherwise you do not notice it on a regular day to day basis
and if you mean the part that actually retracts the belt itself regularly, it is part of the seat belt assemble, and is NON-SERVICEABLE, just replaced
and it would be $170 without shipping from http://www.hondapartsunlimited.com/i...on=SEAT%20BELT
part #4 if you where buying it yourself (and alot of manufactures actually make you buy the buckle too; #1,3, or 20 depending on car and such; because in a accident, they can jam or what not, so it's safer it also just replace it along with the belt itself)
and as far as doing it yourself.... would you be comfortable working with undeployed airbags, that could potential deploy at any time, if proper precautions are not taking to disable them (even then that is not a 100% guarantee)(seat HAS to come out, or at least moved around, and if not disconnected, you could potentially strain the wiring STILL causing the side airbag to deploy)
most people are not willing to take those risks, and rather pay someone else to do it

Here's the parts diagram:
Either number 2 or 4. As you can see, its completely mechanical. Seatbelt sensor is in the buckle, seat removal is not needed for replacement of seatbelts.
You can get the part for 177 dollars shipped to your house.

maybe i am thinking of other cars, but i know on some you cannot get the b-pillar trim (which the bolts are hiding underneath) off without actually removing the seat, due to it be too close, and the seat not going far enough forward when needed (also good luck with getting the buckle itself out if you also want to change that out too LOL)
