'06 TL, deceleration problem, brake sticking?

Was driving my girl's 06 TL yesterday and car started to shake pretty bad and when let off the gas, car would decelerate faster than normal. To confirm, when we got back to my house (driveway declines on the way in), I put the car in neutral from a roll and it eventually stopped rolling and came to a stop halfway down the driveway. Don't smell anything. Drove the car the next day and it wasn't experiencing these symptoms anymore, so seems intermittent. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Thanks in advance

That’s a good test to see if th4e brakes are contacting the rotor. In fact if you have a good feel, you can feel the car stop abruptly rather than a nice rolling stop.

Get an infrared thermometer, pretty cheap, and hit the rotors after driving, to see which one might be the problem.

Bump, because car goes to dealership tomorrow to replace a bad tpms sensor since the car is throwing an error code. While there they are going to take a look at this. Again, anyone heard of this happening on these cars?

sorry i haven't had or heard of this problem at all.

however, my car is also throwing the TPMS error on my MID. i'm assuming one, or all of my sensors are broke too. i plan on taking it to the dealer to get it fixed, but afraid of how much it will cost.

can you tell me how much they charged your GF's TL to get it fixed? is her car still under warranty/extended warranty?

the 4 TPMS sensors itself is ~$75-100. labor might be another $100 i'm guessing.

Rescheduled to thursday so she can get a loaner car for work.

As far as the tpms, from what i've read- most of the time only one goes bad, and the dealer has a way of finding out which one is the culprit and then replaces that one, rather than all 4. She does however have an extended warranty which the service person scheduling the appt said *should* be covered. Crossing my fingers. I'll pm you friday and let you know!
