Do you plan on staying NA or boosting? You will need to resleeve the block if you're going to try something crazy like 3.5 + turbo... our stock cylinder walls cannot handle much.

I have an 04 odyssey crank if you're looking for a build up...

I just want the lower end to be able to handle 150-175 shot run after run all day.
I'm pretty sure the block will handle that.
mostly worried about the rods.

Upper manifold and TB will be next in line for the pnp since I just located a type s TB.

A 3.5 can handle 10psi. Its when you start going for the really crazy build (3.7l + any kind of forced induction) that it goes boom.

No PnP updates but,the headers showed up.
They look good but,I think inside the header where the 3 pipes are welded could have been cleaned up a little nicer.

TB hopefully will be here tomorrow so I can get some more PnP in.

Still waiting on the injetor base gaskets so I can open up the lower holes on the runners and match them to the heads.
I seen some one selling some in the BM and their going to open pretty large.
Once the gaskets are here manifold is coming off and getting done.
Also I think the header install will be much easier without the manifold there.

Got a type s TB today.
So I started on it but,ran out of sanding stuff. The TB plate is also knife edged.To help with flow.
It don't look too bad,I might go opening it up a little more.



Also started on the spacer.
It's trimed,and I polished 3 holes so far.
I'm going to make this piece look show quality.

Plate came out but,there was no need to remove shaft and assembly.
Throttle plate was also thined and and beveled at the edges to reduce drag.

so it is still the factory bore just the casting marks on each end were matched with the fatory machining for the thottle plate ???

also throttle plate thinned??? like you put it on a belt sander or something to make it thinner , cause the 1 thing i be worried about it being too thin would be when you are under high vaccum (engine braking) and it collaspeing/bending inwards, then it accelerates when in realality you are wanting to stop/slow down

Factory bore where the plate is yes.The inlet and outlet are a little larger and all bad castings are smooth.
It's all good,The plate is thiner the last 1/8" to 1/4" .Then the back side of the blade is beveled so the rushing air will flow easyier than going over the blunt edge that was there.
I put up pics of the blade after.

if its possible. id rivet in the plate instead of using them screws which can mess up the air flow.

I was actually thinking of thinning the shaft to picking up some more but I don't know because it might take away from the strenth.
might just try to blend the sharp edge of the shaft thou.
Quicker throttle response soon.

or you can be like nissan on their VQ35 engines with drive by wire (~01 to 06)(especially the car ones) where they put a tsb out about the throttle plate screws backing out and going into the engine, you know the end result with them not always warrentying them, so i would loctite them in place at a minuinum (spelling?)

Did you get a new throttle plate to seal it up? If not, you may have idle issues due to air getting past it.

still factory bore, so new plate not really need, just the rounded edges might not seal as well, but by the looks of it, it should be alright

plate is perfect.
The od of the plate was never changed.
If you look at the pic above you will see I left 1/3 the thickness and tapered off the back.
It makes a perfect seal doing it like this.
also reduces on drag

so I was board about a hour ago and took the manifold and throttle body out.
I took a pic with the mdx spacer sitting on the manifold to show how much will be getting taking out of the manifold holes to port match.
This manifold will flow crazy when fully macth port and polished

I want to get the plenums off to work the whole intake.

If you are worried about the shaft, you could always throw in a little [epoxy of choice] to smooth the transition from the throttle plate to the shaft.

stripped and cleaned the manifold today.
and only opened up the TB inlet to match the type s TB.
maybe I little making it larger and when it goes threw finishing steps it will be perfect.

every passage in these manifolds has a overlap.
I cant believe how bad the passages are lined up from factory.

here's another pic
TB inlet opened up a little more. everything is rough,tomorrow everything should be looking good.


This is a pic from inside the runner to see if the TB is lined up.


Tomorrow the rest of the manifold will be completed.
I finished the spacer tonight.

You could be in for some trouble doing that man. You may end up with a high idle. Its your can and do as you will, (I know you will) but messing with that butterfly could be bad news. Myself, I would not have done that.

You might be able to ge a few video screens into the top of the manifold???? J/K!
