Many members here have done it.

Use the SEARCH command to pull up other threads on Seafoam and read about their experience.

^^Don't tell the n00b to search. You've been here long enough you should have pulled up a link.

here's a seafoam DIY

Well I didn't mean it in a harsh way.

I first answered his question and in case that wasn't satisfactory...where to find more info.

But the question was a simple yes or no question.

Next time I'll try to be more helpful.

No worries. You help out plenty. It's always good to have a link to back up proof instead of telling someone to search.

Damn I never would have thought to use the vacume line like that. I just poured the whole damn thing in the gas tank like it said on the bottle. I'll have to go get some more and try that out.

what exactly is this seafoam doing again?

I got 60k on my car motor, but it runs like a champ. I couldn't see the motor working any better.

I did it yesterday. There a DIY on the 2nd gen TL side. Cleans out carbon deposits in the engine. You also put some in your gas tank for the injectors. Basically it loosens up the gunk and it's burnt off and comes out your exhaust....most people have lots of black smoke.
I didn't have any smoke, but i have low miles. After doing everything the idle was sooo smoothe you couldn't tell the car was even on.

any auto parts store. you can also seafoam the crank case but you have to change your oil and oil filter immediately after.

its the name of the product. i assume the name comes from the smoke it releases when cleaning your engine internals....... i dont think it should smoke if you only put it in the gas tank...... if you put it in the crank case and through the intake it should smoke... if you do all three at once, it will smoke but it will only be from the crank case and the intake.....

I have some more seafoam and want to do it to my wifes 1999 sentra. Can i put the seafoam in through any of the vacuum ports on the intake? Does it matter?

^i dont want to mis-inform you. but i would use the one closest to the manifold. i think the seafoam should take the shortest route possible.

If you put it in your crankcase and it smoked you have a serious problem with your motor. It should only smoke if you run it through the intake. Maybe a little if you put alot in the fuel. But should not smoke in the crankcase.

When I did it to my CLS with 65K miles, it did not smoke as much as I thought it would. But it did run super smooth afterwards. When I get home next week, Im going to do it to the wifes 05 Pacifica. We got it with 11k miles and were at 42K or so now. I'm betting it is going to smoke like crazy. I was also thinking about switching from Mobil 1/ Valvoline Syn to Royal Purple. (I've only used Moble1or Valvoline syn, just depended on wich was on sale)

Once you get a can make sure to read the directions. I think they are more in depth on thier web site. Things like making sure the engine is good and hot before you put it through the intake is important.

You won't be disapointed.

So i'm going to try it on the wifes car tonight. There's a line running off of the throttle body so i'll put it through there.

nah, crankcase is pretty much a closed system. especially away from the exhaust valves.

seafoam

Just did this to my 03 cls. I am actually going to do it again because the mechanic that did the 105k service before I purchased the car, installed the plenum gasket backwards and I was scooping carbon out with a damn spoon! This did however help me get the car for super cheap and the dealer was pissed for letting it go for so low and when I told him how easy it was to fix the misfire issue.

Correction needed here: You do not need to do an oil change after adding SeaFoam to your crankcase.

The instructions on the back of the can states "For use in all motor oils including synthetic. Can be used before or after oil change."
