It seems like BMW doesn't invest any money on interior designs. They are very bland and boring. Some BMW fanboys readily call this "CLASSIC".

If you look across almost all different BMW cars and years, THEY ALL HAVE SAME PLAIN AND BORING INTERIOR!!!

The word you're looking for is "spartan". Simple, frugal, or austere. No need for flashy interiors. Just basic designs with great ergonomics. It's a german thing, so you probably wouldn't understand.

Optioned similarly to a 528i and the price comes out similarly. A bit hard to justify given the gas price these days.

Post Turbo 6-Cylinder for the M3 Returning...

From Leftlanenews...

According to Motor Trend, BMW’s M Group CEO, Ludwig Willisch, told a media roundtable that the next-generation M3, due in about 2013, will be forced to move to a high-power turbocharged six-cylinder. The M3, initially offered with a four-cylinder in its first iteration, was powered by a high-performance six-cylinder motor for its second and third generations, but the current M3 is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 based on the M5’s V10.

Willisch wouldn’t confirm if it will be a single or twin-turbo powerplant powering the next M3, but he did say that the engine will not be based on the 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six currently used in the 335i. BMW is apparently considering a V6, according to Willisch, who said that the V-configuration would yield a more compact engine that could be butted up against the firewall. He also indicated that the next-generation M3 might not be more powerful than the current, 414-horsepower car. The next-generation M3 will shed some weight and gain a more flexible powertrain.

If it loses 300-400 lbs the performance gain would be like adding 50 HP.

Not sure what "a more flexibile powertrain" means.

More flexible engine/powertrain in Europe means more torque in low and mid revs.

Post BMW unveils four new M3 Edition Models

From Motor Authority...

BMW's M3 has undergone a huge evolution since its birth with the E30 3-series. Growing in size, power and cylinder count, the latest M3 hardly bears any resemblance to its forbears. And now BMW is set to push the envelope even further with four new appearance and suspension packages dubbed the M3 Edition Models, available only on the Coupe variant.

Knowing to leave well enough alone, the powertrain of the M3 is untouched in the Edition Models, with only cosmetic enhancements and a slight lowering job on the table. The primary aesthetic changes are focused on wheels, paintwork and interior design. Dark chrome and black accents trim the kidney grille, side gills and dual tailpipes, while the side mirrors also get a black paint job.

Each of the four models comes in its own exterior color, including Alpine White non-metallic, Black non-metallic, Dakar yellow non-metallic, and Monte Carlo Blue metallic - all classic choices for the M3. Borrowing some high-gloss satin chrome trim from BMW's Individual program gives the cars a unique touch.

Inside, the cars get contrasting insert colors, 'Carbon Structure' leather trim with contrasting seams, Black Novillo leather seats, all with unique trim and stitching. Armrests and even door handles also get custom treatment with color-matched contrasting seams on the Dakar Yellow and Monte Carlo blue models. Finally, the door entry bar gets a checkered flag design and the M3 logo.

The suspension drop is the only significant mechanical change, with all of the M3 Edition Models riding 10mm lower than their standard counterparts. Each model also gets a unique 19in alloy wheel with a double-spoke design. Finish can be either standard alloy or black, while on all but the Dakar Yellow model the rims can also be had in a special white color with polished spokes.

The M3 Edition models go on sale in July, and will only be available for six months. The release of the special editions and the limited time frame tip BMW's hand to the motivation for this unexpected batch of early special editions: pumping up slumping sales.

The new M3s look good. However, not so much for some of the other cars (IE Z4, 7, etc). I do not like the way the new nose grills look. They're overly proportioned, imo.

I love the fact that BMW has the balls to do things like this.

Limited Edition: Frozen Grey Metallic (E92 M3)
<hr style="color: rgb(228, 228, 228); background-color: rgb(228, 228, 228);" size="1"> <!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message -->
Following the Competition Limited Edition M6, BMW also decided to offer another limited edition for the E9x M3 painted in Frozen Grey Metallic. Here are the first pictures of an E92 painted in said stunning color:

Wow sick paint job. Only thing missing is they should have also blacked out the kidney grill like they did with the window trim.

I've been seeing more flat/satin paint jobs are car shows. I like it, my wife doesnt

There was a satin pink pearl Elise at one...I gotta say it actually looked really good.

Bimmer is pretty smart for offering something different that a lot of aftermarket guys end up doing.

im sure it crossed their minds - perhaps it was counter-productive for BMW to mass produce chrome grilles only to turn around and paint over it...it would carry an unreasonable cost for a two-part process.

I like the paint color better than the black wheels. I'd probably stick with the polished aluminum finish.
