Mod's for a newbie!

hey everyone, I am new to this and currently in Iraq. Won't be home for 6 months but want to do alot of mods to my 00 TL non type-s. I already have 18" rims, Eibach lowering springs, custom cat-back exhaust, limo tint, tinted tailights, CAI...

Future mod's are:

If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know....thanks ahead of time

You might consider a lightweight crank pulley, intake manifold and throttle body spacers, throttle body coolant by-pass, mid-muffler delete, hi-flow cat, front and rear sway bars

Outlaw Engineering has an IM and TB spacer kit which is only $40 or so more than an MDX spacer alone. The outlaw kit includes necessary bolts, and a TB coolant by-pass connector, so more for the money.

From what I have read, the 09 SH-AWD intake manifold (if you can find one) is a lot of money for only modest gains, and potential fitment issues. I would put that way down the list.

The kit I'm referring to is for stock. A new IM would have to come from a dealer. You would have to buy a spacer to attach the 09 IM to your existing TB. I'm not sure an 09 TL IM would work, although folks have successfully used the 09 SH-AWD manifold. Maybe they are identical.

Just be aware, MDX spacer will require having a gap on your hood. Even with the 09 TL IM.

Like a hood scoop. The 09 IM and spacer are too tall to fit under the hood, so you have to make room with a hood scoop or equivalent.

Well, not exactly cutting into the hood to make a scoop...

You'd be adding spacers/washers to your hood struts to leave a gap and make room. Search Rajca's MDX spacer DIY and you'll know what I'm talking about.

lol.. really??? more for the money??? I spent 80 on Outlaw spacers, which didn't see a difference at all!!

MDX spacer, I saw A LOT of gains and only spent a total of 60 bucks for HONDA OEM parts...

Well, that would be the "or equivalent" I was referring to. I don't like the gap between the fender and hood personally.

I can't doubt you since I have neither of them, but I never saw any dyno before and after results in the posts I read about either the MDX spacer or the 09 IM. Do you have some hard results?

Don't you have a bulge in your hood now, or do you have a gap on the sides?

sounds like you going good already, I don't see where you have struts, probably check out koni or maybe tokico adjustable struts and say go for handling, sway bars. But besides that you sound good to go. Only thing I haven't heard you say is upgrading sound system.

I installed new struts when I put the Eibach springs on, but they are not adjustable. I currently have a good sound system but I am adding headrest tvs, and redoing my wiring when I get home.

I have base, so no need for anything on the hood. I don't have a dyno for comparison, but I can definitely tell you that between MDX spacer and headers, I felt more of a gain from the spacer
