Whoa....I wasn't going to do the flash because it was such a PITA to send ECU to a dealer then to Hondata. This is a game changer and I guess I'll be keeping the RDX longer than I originally thought.

User65....did they mention anything to you while dropping off?

Turn around time, or map database support, etc? ...or is their intent more just custom tune allowance?

Turn around time is expected to be late next week, so approximately 7 days.

They asked me to bring in my K&N intake, so from what I understand they will develop a map for base, and for intake to be distributed to the public.

Is the base map pretty much gonna be the original hondata reflash?

And if nobody volunteers a 2010-2011 model, can they just send me the flashpro and I'll just send them some datalogs? Haha

The flash pro will allow hondata to adjust cam angle, vtec timing, and more from what I understand. So, it's not going to be the basic reflash.

I'm going to see if Joe at LoCash Racing will do a group buy. They are authorized Hondata dealer. Will let you know pricing and how many needed.

Looking online at the FlashPro videos, Hondata had an extensive map database for whatever model they were demonstrating. I have committed myself to a downpipe and midpipe with a single hi flow cat as well as a cat back exhaust. I hope they plan on having a map flexible enough to support those two mods without running the A/F too lean or causing something else.

I'm going to be installing my down and mid pipe with a custom exhaust, so they should be able to tune the AFR into a safe range.

so with flashpro we can start looking at a way to tune for a fuel system and a bigger snail the next dumb question is who lives near a turbo shop with a dyno or lives near a turbo shop and a dyno place? what supporting mods would the drivetrain need to live with 300+whp? and will we need to swap in a bigger maf?

so many questions any one have any answers?

I have no doubt that the FlashPro can be tuned to meet just about any bolt on mod of reasonable design. I am hoping that there is an already loaded map that will accommodate common bolt ons. Mid and downpipe and exhaust are common mods along with intake and intercooler.

Hondata also mentioned the 2012 model, which is sweet that they are supporting this...

drive train is pretty strong as long as you arent towing max capacity while trying to drag in in a quarter mile all day up a hill.. i am sure at some point the tq converter will need to be upgraded same with the tranny cooler.. our tranny cooler is already kinda small so it could benefit from a bigger one. my guess a safe 350hp and 400ish torque can be done all day long on the tranny.. the rdx can benefit more in a lighter driveshaft

Any word on this yet? A group buy would be sweet. And what about tuning options? Does Locash do eTuning with the flashpro?

http://vittuned.com/ They do eTuning with the flashpro for $795. Think they would be willing to offer a group buy on top of that?

ive found a local turbo shop in pa. I also have an exhaust shop to take care of the turbo back exhaust. ive contacted
about a complete fuel system injectors and pump. so as soon as the flash-pro is done I'm going to try to get all the parts together. I think your right about needing a bigger trans cooler. Also will we need an intake? my plans for an intercooler involve going to an air to water setup. any other thoughts or concerns?

Downpipe, intercooler, and turbosmart BPV back on the car. Picking up/installing exhaust this weekend. I'll try to get the pulley reinstalled this weekend as well.

Not running the intake until Hondata approves.

I doubt they will find a complete stock RDX by these many years.

Please contact Doug from Hondata anyway.
We CANNOT let this go away.
Mine's stock with 90+k miles on it. Well... as much as I go off-roading with it, it may have some aftermarket red mud in some places. But all stock otherwise. 'cept... I live in Roll Tide country, deep in the Armpit of Dixie.

how goes the thrash to get everything ready?!? so hard to wait patiently. how did the stock "hot" tune turn out? or did you drive it home with a stock tune? oh and whose exhaust are you running?

Dropping the RDX off tomorrow with all the mods. I'm trying for a late night miracle with a shop here in town to cut my stock exhaust to mate up to the aftermarket midpipe though, but we'll see.

I was going to go with a flowmaster/tsudo exhaust but it fell through, probably a good thing.

I was looking at using one of Flowmaster's old 95ish era Camaro mufflers single 3 in dual 2.25 out in stainless for mine but I think I want something quieter then what they offer. maybe Magnaflow or Borla. could you post pics or maybe a sound clip when your done?

^ magnaflow has a same exhaust as the flowmaster 3 in 2.5 out also they have a 2.5 in with a 2.25 out.. your best bet for helping with the sound and drone is to add a resonator.. my plan is to have a 3 in downpipe with a 3 in mid and a cat added to the mid from there i will run 3 in down to the muffler with a vibrant quiet resonator i think the combo will be nice complement less drone and a nice throaty sound

Yep, I am planning on doing the magnaflow exhaust for camaro's, afraid the flowmaster will be too loud. I was planning on getting a flowmaster resonator though. I'm in a town that's lacking aftermarket support, so it's difficult for me to find a decent shop unless I drive down to LA which is more than likely what I'll do when the time comes. Dropping off soon, can't wait to get it back.

Hondata

Hondata said they were very happy with the testing and my RDX is ready for pickup!

I'm grabbing it on Sunday. He said it's been tuned with all my mods including the intake. I believe there will still be some further testing before release.

I'll be keeping a hand written mileage log for until Hondata says so. They want to determine the fuel efficiency increase.

Keep your eye out for my hondata flashpro writeup.
