How do you wash/clean your TIRES???
Tires, not wheels.
I like to spray one of those tire shine thing on my tires but i notice it doesn't clean it, it just makes it look shinny, its like i just kept covering those dirt with those spray over and over again, one day i tried to used a toothbrush to wash the sidewall and its dirty as hell, is there anything chemical i can use to completely wash off the dirt on the tire sidewall? seems like i m the only one who doesnt know how to deal this since i couldn't find any post regarding this issue...

Needs more Lemon Pledge
Use the leftover car wash soap in the bucket and a stiff brush...

I usually spray a bit of wheel cleaner on the tires. AutoGlym works great.

Three Wheelin'
Turtle Wax Ice wheel and tire cleaner, let it soak in for about a minute then use a tire brush to scrub. Finish it up with Turtle Wax Ice tire shine foam and your tires will be gleaming.

I used it today and you just see all the brown come up when you use a brush to scrub the tire. I definitely recommend

I do a 100+ cars/trucks a year and product $$ become important. I have been doing this stuff for 40+ years and up untill about 4 years ago Whesleys Bleech Wite was my choice until I ran into a product at the Dollar Tree store called Awesome All Purpose Cleaner. Its sort of a yellow liquid in a translucent bottle.
I speay it on the tires prior to wahing the car then as I am washing the car I give the tire a mild scrub with a small stiff brush. The brown crap just runs off.
Then when the tire is dry I add the dressing of choise.
And at the Dollar Tree .. its a dollar a bottle.

Use any all purpose cleaner, with a mild/stiff brush. The lower quality the cleaner the more times you will have to apply and scrub again. a very good quality apc (all purpose cleaner) with get the job done on most dirty tires in one job.

What I do is spray the tire just so its wetted prior to washing the car then wash the car sort of avoiding getting too much water on the tires then at the end I just mist the tire and scrub with a stiff brush and wash it with an old mitt. Misting the tire will reactivate the Awesome.
Glad it worked out .. most people wont even try it because its "cheap" .

You don't need that much ... I can do about 3 4x4 with large tires out of a bottle.

well i wouldn't use it either unless someone recommends it, i thought these kind of cleaners are meant to used for household, and i would think the chemical might damage the tires (I hope not)
btw, i also saw some several products made by AWESOME at dollar tree, like car wash, tire/wheel cleaner, interior cleaner!! are they good??

A guy I vacation with uses it for all kinds of cleaning .. he was importing it and costing him +$8 bottle and he used 10 bottles a year... he nearly crapped when I showed up this summer with 12 bottles and told him the total was $13.94 for all of it.

Vacuum them well... then
Put the mats out on the driveway and take some Blue Dawn dish soap and squirt it on them .. then using a strong stream of water from the hoase suds them up.
Take a smakk stiff brush and scrub the hell out of them in all directions.
Lay them over the fence or a low wall and use the hose to rinse the soap out .. top to bottom till the water runs clean. Suck the rest out with a shop vac .. if you don't have one squeegie most the water out with your hand or a small stick and leave hung over the wall to dry.
Awesome also will work as a pre soak.

i do my wheels and tires pretty much oppisite of most folks....
i do the wheels and tires first with a seperate bucket of carwash soap and a sponge and microfibre mitt that i only use for the wheels, tires, and wheel wells....
i do the wheels and tires first so the car doesnt start to dry and spot up while i am doing the wheels....

Thats exactly what i do. i always prep wheels and wells first after scrubbing i hit them with a light mist of APC and then wash the car and rinse everythnig at the same time.
p.s, If you buy ph neutral soap, you have much more time to play with, as its not damaging to dry on the car.
