Lightbulb HELP NEEDED w/Acura OEM part#--'05 vs. '08 TL Headrest

Before I get flamed, I think I have done sufficient homework to ask the following... I am trying to understand if the following part #'s are indeed the same part essentially 81145-SEP-A01ZD *YR240L* ('05 TL FR Headrest) and 81140-SEP-A11ZC *YR240L* ('08 TL FR Headrest) to my knowledge the only potential conflict between these model years would have been the color difference "light tan" vs "light cream ivory"... Acording to various websites these appear to be the correct color "light cream ivory", just curious to know if there is a design change in the '04-'06 headrest vs '07-'08 headrest. If there are any OEM vendor's, etc... that could chime in I would appreciate it!

Agreed... That is why I am trying to buy a used one off of a '05 TL that I am hoping/trying to figure out if it is the same as my '08 TL

head reast

The only differance between them are the color... Even the Type S are the same again only color is different. I work for Acura and have a 04 TL with 07-08 interior and i didn't have to mod anything to fit...

Again, so I am "clear" if the description of the two parts say they are both the same interior color "light cream ivory" and color code "YR240L", then those two part#'s should be th same thing? I figured from a "fit" perspective these should be the same pieces and no issues there. Just concerned of the 2-different part #'s.... Thanks for your insight as well.

Not sure about an '05, but 2004 and 2008 headrests are different. I would assume the 05 is different as well (not sure). The shape of them is just slightly different. Older models are wider at the top of the headrest. The newer models start out wide at the bottom and get less wide as they go up (Looking at them from the front, not from the side). I never noticed until I parked beside an 04 one day. Looking at it from the front I thought the headrests looked weird. Then every other older model I noticed the headrests were different than on my '08. It's not a big difference but you would definitely be able to tell if you had an 04 and 08 headrest in one car. Go to autotrader or something and look at them to see if you can notice the difference.

^^^ 2004 are shaped like this \__/

2008 are shaped like this /__\

Not that dramatic of a difference, but there is a difference. Just thought that might help you understand what I was trying to say in the last post.

I think you might be on to something... As I mention in the post they are different part #'s, so I would guess that there is a "change" in the parts even though it might be minor... I am looking to replace both the headrest at the same time though... So the angle thing hopefully shouldn't be too big of an issue I hope... As long as they fit well in the headrest well, as they seem to per the previous response of the forum member.

Not sure about the rear headrest... didn't look into those as I was not anticipating the need to change those but you do bring up a good point... Any other Acura Dealer/OEM vendor inputs??
