Cars that have engine size badges
Have you guys noticed cars that have badges that show off motor size such as 2.5, 3.5, VW 2.0, Hemi 5.8 are usually excellent and something for enthusiasts like us. I think its an insider thing that car makers do to tell us " we are proud of the motor in there and will show it to everyone". I literally love my 2.5 in my Mazda3, and happy to have the 2.5 badge in the back. From now on I think I will only buy cars have engine badges.

Hmmm, my M5 is missing this type of badge. Must not be a real enthusiast/high performance car.

Very popular is the sixties. "396", "406", "390", "440", "350", 302", etc. And my favourite, "427".
Back in the day it wasn't uncommon for these badges to come off and be replaced with such emblems as "283" or "289". Didn't want you opponent to know what was under the hood.

My '97 TL and '02 RL say 3.2 and 3.5 respectively. Nice engines, reliable as hell.

BMW & MB "hide" theirs from the less interested. 528i = 2.8L; C320 = 3.2L; etc., etc.

That's not my "actual" car, but I do have a red, E60 M5 just like it. And you are right about the engine; the mighty V10 is all that and a bag of chips. Never enjoyed owning another car as much in my life.

Ferrari's been doing it for years with their past models, if you know enough about their specs.

Whats up with RDX owners?

My CL had 3.2 on the back. I ripped it off real quick. My old Civic and Prelude didn't have any displacement badge on it. I preferred it that way.
Any real enthusiast already knows what is under the hood of a car. There is no need to announce it to the world with a plastic, stick-on badge.
Im with chill_dog, all badges get ripped off the car. Everyone knows what the car is, and for the few that dont, I like to keep them guessing.

OP...the Hemi are 5.7, 6.1, and now 6.4
Only the 6.1 had "6.1" on the hood. The 6.4 is badged as the 392.
The only other engines badged were the 98 JGC and 1st gen Durango with the 5.9 engine.
Any car you see sporting a 5.7 badge was added by the owner.

I love that they do that. When I was little, this was something that my dad taught me. Though this trick won't last for much longer. The C250 has a 1.8 liter. The C63 has a 6.2 liter. A few other AMG cars with the 63 badge now have twin-turbo 5.5 liters. Sucks that they can't just use "E55 AMG" but I think the "63" is almost a trademark now.

Even worse when people put the vinyl 22" stickers right above their wheels. Makes me want to hurl. Really??

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
My car in the US is badged 3.0R, but they don't have it in a specB. My specB here has Subaru and Legacy on the back. The way to tell is the dual exhaust.

You might like BMW, sure the number on the back that is suppose to show the engine size is sometimes correct, but BMW takes it a step farther.
The badge can show things like X-drive, S-drive, Active Hybrid.
You could really show off the options you paid for if you drove a BMW. I'm sure the strangers in traffic will be mightly impressed.

Mercedes C300 - 3.0 liter
Mercedes C350 - 3.5 liter
Mercedes C250 - 1.8 liter
Lexus RX350 - 3.5 liter
Lexus RX450h - 3.5 liter
It gets interesting. BMW nomenclature gets really interesting.
