wife rear-ended someone tonight and there are JDM parts on CL ... will they work?

Need hood, bumper cover (and probably support), driver's headlight

these 1G TL parts are on sac craigslist and pretty cheap, I think:

* front bumper w/ lights + support------$120
* fender w/ amber side marker -----$80 each
* headlights [Chrome housing]------$150 each
* headlights [Black housing]------$150 each
* hood w/grille -------$200
* radiator support --------$50
* radiator [2.5L only] --------$100
* door ------$100

I searched and got nothing, like it's down maybe - can I just do the hood and bumper or will the fenders and other shit not line up?

lol I know exactly where you're getting this from. Venus auto parts or something in sac. I bought headlights and a grill from there once and the guy was some cheapo.

Most of these JDM parts will fit, but I would recommend getting a USDM bumper support because the JDM one is fragile compared to the USDM one.

thanks guys, that guy's awesome. Got the hood, bumper (with parking light jobbie) and support & clear lenses, CLEAN black housing headlights with all tabs for $620 - and since I have a perfect USDM normal headlight he'll give me $150 when I bring it in.

It looks fine. I should've checked with Venus recently... They gave us an SR20 for $300, haha. Besides, I definitely need a new bumper and fender liners. What colour did he have? If I can get away with not having to paint the parts, the better.

~Cheers~

Damn, I need to check out Sac CL more often! It looks like he's got the same wheels as I do, but narrower and in shittier shape:

What are the odds, though?

what do you mean by cheapo? was he hard to deal with? was he easy to negotiate prices with? does he carry broken stuff and such? is he fully legit?

he had a dark green and like 4 pearl white front bumpers, all were nicked and scratched up pretty good, I got the only one with the retard parking thing. Didn't buy fenders but I saw piles of all colors, I guess he gets front ends only. Cool shop, cool guy, well organized.

Care to post some links to the CL ads? I didn't see them when I looked.

@StayHumble,

He's just a bit weird, and he's firm on prices, not really a negotiating type. I got some good deals from him before, though, as I had posted above. Unfortunately, when I called him out on using a photo of a fellow member's car for his site, he got a bit colder dealing with me. I haven't gone to check up on him since then.

~Cheers~

Man, you're fast! Do you have any experience doing this or is it your first time? I remember doing this on my old Camry, and all the pieces were hard to put in because everything seemed to be off by a couple of millimeters and made life real difficult - did all your parts fit nicely?

thanks!

nope, the bumper support is pretty tweaked, had to bang & pry it into shape rather than use the garbage JDM one. Also freed up the radiator and ratched-strapped the radiator support back to straight, it was like 1" pushed in ... all in all, i made good progress in 5 hours though, and got to hang with my dad a little

damn, too late to edit last night's post, here's the "old & new" pic
