New TL Owner with a Question

First off, hello everybody, I've been reading the forums in the days leading up to my purchase of a 2005 TL with 80k miles. I love the car so far, especially coming from a 2000 Taurus SE. I've already installed a roof rack and wanted a car cover to be my next purchase. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations or warnings. The only problem is, it needs to fit on the car with the rack still on. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hmmm. Finding a car cover for your particular roof rack and car is probably going to be very difficult. Did you have one for your Taurus? Have you test fitted it on the TL? Maybe go custom made?

I remember seeing a guy back a few months trying to sell a car cover with no luck on the black market. Id check there and see if that would maybe get you close with the roof rack for a good deal

Reasonably sure he did finally sell it and it was OEM, so highly doubt it would fit over the rack while on the car.

First off, welcome to Acurazine!

Secondly, I doubt the OEM cover will fit with the rack but I'd check out some different companies. You might have to end up going custom or possibly find a cover for a slightly bigger car?

I've never bought a cover before. After doing a little bit of research I've decided that waterproof isn't necessary for what I'm looking to do, but water resistant would be nice. What's a responsible price to pay for something like that? I assume custom would be significantly more expensive. I may just go out and measure how tall the car is now and find one that will fit.
