I've never been a fan of any Mopar product but THIS will be the benchmark for muscle cars. Kudos to Chrysler.
Can't wait to see how other makes respond.

Dodge has a winner on its hands with this version of the Challenger, no doubt.
Interestingly enough, Road & Track has some info on a potential Charger SRT with the Hellcat engine: http://www.roadandtrack.com/go/futur...er-srt-hellcat

This thing is the business!! Can't wait to see our favorite driving heads get hold of one and test it against the Shelby Mustang and ZL1 Camaro. I'm so glad Dodge stepped up its muscle game with this car.

That thing looks great. Glad they finally upgraded the interior. Will other models get the same interior now or is it specific to the hellcat?

If I was single with no kids, smarter, made more money and had bigger balls it would be in my garage. That's not a lot to ask for is it?

Looks good.
BTW, did you see Jeff Dunham? He tweeted a lot of pics of it & said he test drove it for a quick spin. Loved it.

Yes. My friends came with him. He is a big car guy. I operated on his tv show with those same friends. He did get to take a spin in it with my friends. Very jealous.

GM and Ford better step up their game... it feels like the `70's muscle car wars have been revived... a 10-11 sec capable car out of the box is amazing... and at the price point they are asking puts it very competitive against a C7 vette...
i love how the inner lights double as an air intake...
Mopar or no car!!!

A co-worker of mine went to the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals this year and said that Ralph Gilles performed a spectacular burnout in a green Hellcat. So far, all the press releases I had seen were of the red car. Said the car sounded amazing. 707 HP is pretty damn cool.

http://www.foxsports.com/motor/story...tionals-071514
He also said there was a scat pack equipped Challenger that you could get rides in with Top Fuel Driver and absolutely smokin hottie Leah Pritchett, which he got to do.
Mopar is clearly bringin some A-game to the market...

Yeah, they had Leah Pritchett giving rides in a scat pack challenger here back in April at our annual Spring Fest of LX. Always a huge Dodge presence there. I've seen Ralph at so many event now...its awesome to see the companies do that. I have never seen any other company engage so actively with their fan base. And many things that get called for by fans online and in person end up in/on the cars. Case in point...this Hellcat...it took a long time, but man they delivered in spades.

This thing is sure to disappoint down the 1/4 mile track. They didn't address the fatal flaw of all these cars: morbid obesity.
The "smoking tire" couldnt get out of the 8s down the 1/8th mile in the thing.

God bless American muscle. Dodge has brung it!
I love this HP war. Bring on the Hellcat Charger! I'd hit it if I didn't have a V.
All they need to do now is to bring back the Magnum and put that engine in it.....

Yeah...stock warrantied car making 11.2 (on stock tires) in the 1/4 mile SURE IS disappointing.

This thing is not going anywhere near 11.2 if it can’t run better than 8s in the 1/8th mile. I guarantee this thing will be slower than a 13+ GT500, which runs around 11.8 or so.
And I’m looking forward to running into one of these. My “cougar mobile” has dusted “many a Challenger” in its day.

This is going to be one hell of a car and I would be more than willing to scare myself driving it.
I appreciate all car with this kind of power regardless of brand, so yeah, whether its an AMG,CTS V,GTR or a Shelby GT 500 to name a few, kudos to the manufacturers for making them available.

No need for personal attacks. How old are you? You are one serious fanboy; or maybe the morbid obesity part bothered you.

707bhp from a supercharged V8? I'd love to drive it just once.... and I'd prolly have to bring new drawers.

Now the automaker has released official drag strip times. The Challenger Hellcat ran the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 125 mph on street tires, and did the deed in 10.8 seconds at 126 mph on drag radials.
Those times, which are NHRA-certified, make the 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat the fastest muscle car ever. In our testing, the 662-hp 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 ran the quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds at 125.7 mph, while the 580-hp 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 posted 12.1 seconds at 117.4 mph. While Dodge has been mum on the Challenger SRT Hellcat’s curb weight, the last 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT we tested weighed 4260 pounds. With a 470-hp 6.4-liter Hemi V-8, that model ran the quarter-mile in 13.0 seconds at 111.3 mph. For reference, the Shelby GT500 tipped the scales at 3871 pounds and the Camaro ZL1 at 4051 pounds.

Reviewers have already explained how Dodge got 11.2 out of the car (& a 10.8 on street legal radials certified by the NHRA).

The irony of your entire post. It doesn't matter what other drivers are getting, the point is you guaranteed it couldn't hit those times & yet the NHRA certified them both.
No shit most drivers will never run those times & no here cares about your bitch mobile being able to take everything under the sun.
