New 2011 RDX Owner
Hey folks...just a quick introduction - signed the deal on a new 2011 RDX SH-AWD today, picking it up tomorrow. It's Palladium with Ebony, without the tech package. Even so we were pleasantly surprised at the amount of "stuff" that comes standard, without that extra package. Did add the remote start and a set of winter wheels/tires though...Canada Eh! and all it's winter joys LOL. We cross shopped a LOT of different, small SUV/CUV's before opting for the Acura - GLK350, X3, Q5, Tiguan, Sportage, Tucson, XC60...you name, if it was in the same or similar price range, we considered it. In the end it was the overall package/price that sold us, along with a test drive of course. We needed something practical to work as a daily driver throughout the year, but that still caters to the driver's comfort, and is still a bit of fun to drive as icing on the cake. The RDX fit all the above and then some. This is our first Acura, or even Honda, product of any type and guess we're about to see what all that hype is all about too .

Thanks
Soon as pick it up tomorrow
Thanks as well, but if you think the RDX is hard on gas, stay well away from the GLK350!!!

Well, we picked it up this afternoon and immediately proceed to take it for a nice long cruise. Went and had a nice dinner, then drove it back home - very impressed with it I must say. Ride is comfortable, if a bit firm, but I prefer it that way over the floating pillowy kind. Being brand new, didn't really romp on it, but a couple quick bursts and it responded nicely, with a nice growling exhaust note too. I've read a few reports that mentioned the engine seemed "buzzy", but didn't find it that way at all. There is a bit of turbo lag no doubt when you first hit it, but nothing drastic. Once the boost comes up, it moves out pretty damn good. As I first mentioned above, it has a lot of "stuff" for the money, including HID's (low beam only though) which is a pleasant surprise - thought those only came with the Tech Package. Have each key also activate the interior memory seat seating is also very nice, as I can never get in a car after my wife is driving - seat all the way forward *L*. Now as soon as I hit unlock with "my" key, the seat adjusts to my setting. Very cool!
Unfortunately, no pics at it was pouring rain, hope to have some with better weather.

Congrats on the new ride?
I like your pics of the RDX, the interior shots look like something out of a magazine.
Any first mods for the RDX? I got the all weather floor mats first for the wifey RDX; a real must have in any kind of weather.

Thanks . Re mods, just those new winter rims+snowtires and remote start - dealer had to order in the wheels/tires, should be here on Friday and installed then. The stock all seasons did pretty good though in the mess we faced today, no doubt with proper winter shoes on there it'll be all but unstoppable. The rest of my mod money gets spent on the GT500 LOL, now safely retired til spring!

Not much into Fords, but I like the mustang in the back on the rear-view camera shot!
Also like the overlay on the screen. Nice.
0 degrees! (Failed the metric system in 4th grade, but is that 32 degrees F ?) I would never make it. It is 65 here and I am freezing.

Give that man a cigar, you nailed it . I'd trade for your 65* anytime LOL. Especially since it'll soon be getting lots colder than that too .
The Mustang in back is my toy - GT500 with basic upgrades, runs high 11's at ~121mph traps...keeps me sane *L*. When it comes to cars, I could care less what the brand is, I just like what I like. But I have always had a preference for high performance rwd rumbling V8's, of which I've owned a few different varieties over the years.
Gratuitous GT500 shot

hehe funny saw a gt mustang on the way home today was going really slow about 20 under on this one lane road. so i decided to pass it and as soon as i was beside he decided to gun it. man that thing was loud and large too about 2x size of my 1 series. so i decided to let him go and stayed behind him soon again he slowed down. The moron was starting to piss me off, i needed to get home soon and take a leak. so i decided to be more heavy on the throttle but the bastard didn't let me go again. honestly all my life driving the biggest bully i've ever seen. dropped into 2nd at 40mph and floored i finally barely passed him at an unmentionable speed lol. i say fail for mustang. i mean a v8 and a supercharger and all and i think it was manual too compared to my auto.

Very Very nice! Pops has a new Saleen in the garage that just purrrrs. Funny because he is a car nut / collector and has some pretty nice and expensive rides, the mustang being the most affordable of them all - but it is the Mustang that gets all the people wanting to look and listen. A cop even stopped him just so he could look at it.
Thanks

Never wanted attention? Then why post such a boy-racer look at what I did message? Really don't mean to sound harsh, but that's how it came across. I do all my "racing" at a local track, much safer and less points on a ticket LOL - that's my point

Thanks, it does have a lot of features and various adjustable settings for sure. I may even have to dip into the owner's manual again

sweet! I'm in the market now for a 2011 RDX with tech package. Haven't had the time to search but does anyone know the dealer discount or invoice pricing is in Canada? What can I look at for a discount on top of the factory incentives?

Not sure on dealer invoice (those figures are a lot harder to dig up in Canada than the U.S. for some reason), but FWIW I saved aprx Can$3G's off MSRP on a base model.

it's normally MSRP less 8-9% less factory incentives -- then add in your taxes, fees (A/C etc), freight and that's where you start negotiating - at least that's how i did it. you can try Car Cost Canada but they charge a fee ($30 or $40 for a subscription for 3 cars, if i am not mistaken).

Alright, it is a done deal! I too am picking up a new 2011 RDX with Tech Package on Monday
Wife and I have looked at a used 07 X3, used 08 RDX, new Tiguan...in the end the RDX was still the best bang for your buck. Already on order are weathertech mats for the entire car. This is replacing our 08 Mini Cooper S.
Woot!
