So the HFL died in my '07 TL-S about a year an half ago. I finally got around to looking for a new one and got a good deal on eBay (too good apparently). Got it all hooked up and as soon as I press the Talk button it says the HLF is locked and I must enter the 4-digit PIN. Google tells me this is a user configured PIN and the only way to clear it is with the HDS cable/software.

Anyone in the Toronto area have HDS and willing to help me out? I called a few dealers and was quoted anywhere from $75-$125 for them to plug in the cable and click the mouse like 3 times.

Well, I was working from home at the time so wasn't driving much. I started a new job a few months ago and have a commute which is why I decided to get a replacement.

I would contact the seller and ebay to see if you can get your money back being it technically doesn't work. Maybe put that money into getting the dealer to unlock it.
