Is there a reason to paint the fog light bulb cover. Is it just for looks? Does it actually block out the light so you can just see the fogs on? Confused and a noob when it comes to TL lights. Just want to know if this is an option i might want to go with. Thanks in advance.

Great job on those lights, bro.
Not that I'm advocating for nickel and diming people, but damn, Lankanboy1 owes you a fat tip! Those headlights looked like hell, the before and after shots are amazing.

From what I've read all around, unless you open/seal the headlights in a humidity-free environment (as they are done at the factory), you'll get a bit of fogging due to the moisture left inside the lights, but that should clear after a minute or two of the lights being on.

That said, if you continuously get fogging, they're simply not sealed. I thought of doing this in my finished basement, where the dehumidifier runs and (especially during winter months) the humidity is @ < 10%, but I decided to defer to JnC based on the quality of his work and the pictures to prove it!!

If the fogging doesn't go away after a few minutes, it's time to re-seal.

You think that set had a make over?? Wait till you guys see what I am working on right now One of the members sent me a set of headlights from NY that was worked on in the past by a local shop. From the looks of the work it seems like that the worker either didnt like the customer or had a personal beef with him, the set has been butchered beyond belief. Every piece in the headlight is broken, turn signal reflector, main bezel, chrome bezel. Who ever opened the headlights went around with a screwdriver and yanked the whole silicone channel out of shape . To get rid of fogging problem there have been holes drilled into the front clear plastic lens

BUT I love a Challenger so these will be brought back to life once I am done with them as well .

Before and after pictures to follow.

Its just for looks. It does not block any light. Once the cover is painted the black paint reflects in the fog light reflector and gives it a blacked out look as well hence completes the semi homogeneous chrome/black look of the headlight.

Got this set in for repair work and customization from a member in Long Island, apparantly he had a local shop do some work and they messed up the headlights BAD. I will let the pictures do the talking.

Some "Before" pictures

This is how they rolled in, I thought the turn signal tint was for aesthetics but I was wrong, who ever worked on the headlights couldn’t fathom the idea of people looking at what was going on behind the tint so they installed it to cover the damage.

Broken turn signal reflector, broken main bezel, broken off chrome strip

My biggest issue, silicone channel all messed up all around the headlight

A 9005 HID kit was also installed in a 9006 opening and held in place with screws an metal strip.

The carnage continuous

Some "AFTER" pictures

BTW here is what was done the headlights

This is what was done to the headlights.

Holes in the front lenses were fixed.
Silicone channel was fixed.
Turn signal reflector was mended and covered with CF inlays to hide the cracks.
Main bezel was fixed.
Blacked out V2
HID kit bulbs were tossed out and replaced with halogen bulbs.
The screws that were drilled into the headlights were taken out and holes were sealed.
Front lenses were refinished.

the bulb is plug an play....you dont need to send it to him. You will just install it once your lights come back to you! (yea I didn't know that either)

Buy yourself a T-20 Torx scerewdriver thingy. You need it to open up the back of the headlight to swap out your ballast harness and bulb
