If we booger up the load screen, remove the - battery terminal and reconnect... WHAM... You're back. Nothing to really "hurt" either. It's just software.
Might give it a whirl tonight.

This is truly a big step for all of the navi owners on Acurazine. Finally, there is a way to get rid of the nag screen and change the boot-up picture without changing the navi DVD. Plus, there is no way that you can harm your navi system, and it is completely reversible and easy to hide when you go to the dealer.
When going to the dealer go into the setup and press the "load DVD" button, since the regular DVD is in the drive.
After taking it to the dealer, load the regular DVD, then swap and put the CD or DVD you made into the drive, and press "load DVD". Then, put the regular DVD back in.
Plus, who knows what could be done with this in the future.
This is the first, main block in the nav-hacking pyrimid.

Does that BMP imgae stay on the navi once you remove the CD-R and replace it with the Navi disc? Example: Do you have to load the CD-R everytime you start up the car to get the start-up image?

OK here are my contributions...they are jpg, so you need to save them as bitmaps... I have no idea if anyone will like them, but if you want I can post the psds as well...
I think someone asked for a Honda logo... maybe over at the TSX forums?

xelvic,
Are you sure he did it? He just wrote in his thread that he got rid of the text that appears in the nag screen, but you still have to press "OK"...

I think the Navi disc is a completely different format and the system isn't the same one (made by Alpine) on the 2G.... so unfortunately, I don't think it'll work.

keep the color, you can even keep the 256 color and not have to reduce it to 173 like other people.... keep the quality of the pic, you dont want a crappy picture right?
make sure its under 113,000. check and double check by right clicking on it and going to properties or highlighting it before you open it in photoshop.
if its too big, then use photoshop or any other pic editor and slice off a very thin piece off one side, small as possible, it should be ok then, check before you use the dumpnav prog to alter the bin file. only alter the bin file once. you cannot keep trying to alter a specific bin file with a diff pic. it'll mess it up and you'll have to start from scratch.
so make sure the picture is the correct size before modifying the bin file.
the nav will automatically stretch the pic to fit on the screen

The way a bitmap works is the resolution is specified by X*Y*Z The X would represent horizontal resolution, Y would be vertical resolution. Z is for color. If Z is =1 that means it is white or black, 1 or 2. If you ad a number before that or Z= 2 then it is a pair of numbers, 00, 01, 10, 11. For every additional number you multiply the first number by 2. So 256 colors is 8 digits. for every pixel there is an 8 digit combination. so a 5X5 image in 2 colors is 25 bits. 8 bits to a byte. 1000 bytes to a kilo byte. I am pretty sure this is correct info.
