SRS light and passenger side seatbelt

Hey guys,

Recently I have started noticing that my SRS light has come on. I reset it with some online instructions but the light still comes back on whenever someone sits in the passenger seat. I played around with the conditions a bit and it seems the light only comes on when the person puts their seat belt buckle into the slot. Does anyone know what this could be? Is there an SRS relay or fuse that could be the culprit? Unfortunately my Acura was imported to Canada so I do not have the luxury of the extended warranty.

There is no problem and that is completely normal. When someone is sitting in the seat a certain way it will light to show the bag is deactivated.

I am not talking about the yellow SIDE AIRBAG light tho. Its the RED SRS Light. Even if the person leaves the light still stays lit and remains lit until you reset it.

I had an SRS light on and it turned out to be a $50 switch in the seat belt buckle. It was covered under warranty. In the US, Seat belts are covered beyond the normal warranty so this was serviced by the dealer for free. Hopefully it's the same in Canada.

BTW - they pulled the code that told them the specific issue causing the SRS light to be on.

^ I don't know how it works with US imports but seat belts are backed by federal warranty under normal circumstances.

same exact thing happened to me. i took it to the dealer, and since seat belts are covered for the life of the car, my passenger belt buckle was replaced for free.

I would take it to your local dealer.
