It is probably because i'm not a very active poster lol. I need more updates to keep people looking.

Just looked at the tracking number and my headlights will be here Saturday. I will have them installed along with pics on Sunday. I hate the waiting game.

It's definitely one of the best mods for the money IMO. It's definitely worth your time. Just to install the ZKW-r lenses, it would only take a few hours start to finish to do everything and the CBI'S bulbs are the best bulbs I've ever had. They came out with SVS bulbs that are supposed to be brighter, but they're only offered in 4300k and I want to stay away from the yellow tinge.

Any reason you went with the mini h1 and not the d2s?
and Rich sure loves his fur lol

CBIs are nice. I been contemplating the SVS myself... never got around to it yet as my 85122+ are still doing fine [for now...]

The H1's perform a little better, better width to them and the H1's have a step shield as opposed to the slope of the D2S. I have 04 step shields with my 07 bowls so the match is fairly close.

Darn, shoulda done a little more research than hahah.
I got the D2S just recently--waiting for it to arrive.
I figured the D2S was a better bulb and would've been the one to provide better lighting.

I would have gone D2S just because you are able to use OEM bulbs, but looking at the D2S projectors the hot spots are way to the left of the center of the projector ( I have personal experience with those, I have retrofited my girlfriends XB with Mori D2S projectors) not saying the hot spot issue isn't fixable, you just have to move the foreground shield a little bit (JVX has a how to adressing the issue). I just did not want to mess with anything and just have an out of the box projector.
If and when I get a new set of headlights, I'm going to mess and see what the biggest size projector I can fit in the 07-08 headlights. I'd really like to fit the FX-r projectors, but i'd imagine that I would have to do a solenoid delete.

I'll make sure to check out his thread. Thanks for that!
Well, I'd imagine you can fit the FX-r projectors in our headlights---at least maybe on the 2004-2006 headlights as the inner bezel doesn't have that 'second shroud'. The open space of the inner-fogs looks like it'll allow for quite a bit of room. Although making it look uniform to the OEM projector may be a little tricky.

Got into a small accident with a deer last week. I will be bringing it to the shop next week. I ordered my front base aspec lip FINALLY. I'll be getting a new bumper, new headlight and a hood replaced. I have new plans for the headlights as far as the paint scheme goes. I've never seen this type of headlight out so I'll be excited to show you guys. I've been talking to JnC about another quad setup. I wasn't very pleased with HIDIllusionz on the quad set up they built me. This time a possible TL/S2K set up will be in the works. I'll be excited to show some updates.
I re organized my photobucket that's the reason why all my pics are gone. If you anyone wants to see something just let me know and I'll re post pics.

-Thanks for looking!

It sure will be. I've needed a new bumper ever since I first bought the car. The dealership I bought it from repaired the bumper originally and panited over the factory paint. I didn't realize it was damage till I took the bumper off the first time. I was very upset seeing that I bought a CPO Acura

Wow that's shitty, hitting the deer and having a CPOed car having the bumper painted like that.

Best of luck and post pictures asap!

Great job on the car. Any tips for focusing and installing the ZKW lenses? I'm considering adding them to my TL-S lights and upgrading to CBI bulbs.

Thanks,
Jon

Hey Jon, sorry for the late response. As far as the ZKW lenses go, it all depends which ones you are using. ZKW authentics or ZKW-replicas. The authentic lenses will need to be tweaked by lens spacing and or shield bending. The Zkw-r are basically the same. Some say you do not need to space the lens, some say you do. The lip of the replicas is the same thickness as the OEM lenses so spacing them and clipping the retainer back is a little difficult because without spacers it's a tight fit already. hope that helps.

A quick update for this thread. I finished my taillights a few days ago and it was decently warm (28 degrees) today so I decided to throw them on.

I've wanted this style since I bought the car after seeing jptl04'S tails.
Thanks for the comments guys.
Once it's at least 30+ at night, I'll be able to finish my headlight project.

The only thing that has been updated since the last post was my new headlights I finished back in may. I didn't have much time over the summer to get more pictures, but I did update My Quad Headlight build" thread of the process I went through bnuilding the headlights and some nice install and output shots.

I do have ATLP base exhaust with RV6 V3 Jpipe on currently hopefully I'll being installing either Type-S precats, or go with RV6 HFPC's this spring.

Nate, you don't know how much joy it brings me to read through this whole dame thread. No homo, Nates a previous customer of mines. Anyways, I never knew you were such a DIY guy? MNSC could have really benefited from you're knowledge or should I say bravery. Oh well, hope all is well and the car is safe. Looks like you'll have to make a trip down here in the cities around spring/summer for a our meets so you can school me on these TL's. I'm interested to hear your exhaust. Stay warm.

I got some more goodies for the ride!

Just received these in the mail today.

I got this about a week ago. Going to install it today. OEM typeS

These were cheap so going to try and rig them up or retrofit into new foglights. They're BMW LED foglights. They power right from a 12v source so no need for ballasts or upgraded wiring.

Also replaced my rv6 v3 jpipe for an ATLP v2 jpipe race pipe and put that on a few days ago.

Installed my HFPC yesterday. That was a lot more work than I was intially anticipating. It took me about 6 hours to complete, the only trouble spots I really had were getting the clips off of the lower sensor that route to the top of the engine bay. It does sound awesome from the quick drive I went for last night. It's a blizzard here now so I haven't really been able to get on it that much. I'll try and get some video clips over the weekend.

You have the non-res ATLP catback right?

I bought mine from a vendor on here. I believe it was from healtoe.

Yes I do. I'll get some for sure this weekend. Weather has really turned around and it's finally feeling like spring here.

Basically the rv6 v3 jpipe had a bit of rasp to it that I didn't like, when installing the ATLP v2 jpipe rasp was completely eliminated and sounded great, but after installing the hfpc I basically have the same amount of rasp as I did with the stock pre cats and v3 jpipe and the exhaust sounds much better now with the hfpc.

I couldn't pass up the deal. $60/pair! I know they probaly wont fit in the OEM BMW housing so I will probably have to buy new foglights open up both and retrofit the LED in the acura housing.
