Heater Core

I'm looking for a cheaper replacement (around $150) heater core than the one's I've been finding.

At first I was afraid the issue might be the water pump, but it's not. So long as the car is running at more than idle, heat tends to come out. But as soon as I'm stopped at a light or something, only cold air blows out. I'm told it's likely a clogged up heater core.

So either I need it replaced, or need an additive of some kind to clean it out.

Ideas?

Check youtube "daves farm" for a recent post where he explains several ways to clean a blocked heater core. Dave has lots of silly posts, but some very good auto tips occasionally. Here's the link.

Let all know if it works.

good luck
