Always wonder about switching to a TSX?

When the redesign TSX was introduce it didn't look that bad, except for that shield. Now, a 2011 TSX had a face lift. Let me first to say that the Euro Accord looks absolute beautiful until they bring it over to NA and slap on that shield.

I currently have a 2006 Acura TL, and planning to keep her until she's at her limit. But when these photos were introduce it occurs to me that in the next 2 years I'm definitely getting a TSX as my second car. I don't know why Acura doesn't use this grille, it looks amazing.

Have you guys thought about switching, or buying a TSX?

Not really, as I'm going to run my TL 'till it dies, but man, is that thing sexy.

I'm not a huge fan of the Euro Accord grill (too much chrome), but it is worlds better than the 4G TL.

I actually like the 2G TSX. The shield is a bit much, but I like the proportions of it. I'd considered trading my 3G TL for it, but then I saw the 900 button upper console and the dial. Why is that thing way up there? It'd make more sense if it was between the seats near where your hand would naturally fall.

a little bit of spray paint to make it dark ebony or black chrome and that grill would be very nice. I still think the best sweet spot out there right now is the V6 TSX. The new grill would just be icing on the cake.

almost traded in my 07TL for a 2010 V6 TSX but:

-TSX is small/cramped
-No bixenons
-NO LED tails
-some interior pieces looked rather cheap
-doors felt tinny
-i absolutely LOVE the TL auto-crank... i.e. just flick the key once to start up the engine. TSX doesn't have it.
-the North American grill is still fugly even with the update. EURO grill is nice but that's another mod that has to be done.

BUT
-the stereo ...sound...bluetooth streaming..USB connectivity...blew the TL one away.
-the v6 has sexy 18" wheels...! (so get aspecs for your TL!)
-light and nimble..power of the TL-S in a smaller package.

anyways.. for sure skip the 4cylinder though... V6 is the only one to get. but coming from an 07-08, not much of a diff... 04-06 then yes i would defiinitely consider it.

i've owned 3 TSX models: 04-06- and an 08 and i enjoyed them immensely. still waiting for a car worthy of my TL tradein.

JUST imo!

Thumbs up Tsx

Not a bad idea..... but last month I did the opposite. I turned in my 2008 TSX and purchased a 2010 TL. I have to admit, the TSX was a wonderful car. Great pick-up and handling, especially on the highway, when you need to pass as your motoring along at 70mph.
I'm still getting use to the larger size of the TL .... but you can't beat it for a smooth ride and all the technolgy that Acura crammed into this beauty.
Do miss that zippy TSX though ......

I have driven 2010 and 2011 4 cyl TSX's many times because they were given to me as loaners everytime I took my 06 6MT TL in for warranty work. They were all non-navi, automatic.

Those things are slow. I would go with the V6 or at least get 6MT with the 4 cyl. As mentioned, the doors feel light. But I do love the big knobs and the nice display for stereo and HVAC. Even the starndard sound system sounded a lot better than my TL's ELS.

i debated between the older TSX and the TL..

lack of a timing belt, probably less maintenance to worry about with the TSX..

But I thought that I'd rather pay for more power and size, and was willing to cover the maintenance needs for the TL. I swore to myself that my next car would be either a turbo 4 cyl or a 6 cyl car.

V6 for sure. I'm just not a big fan of the centre console. Looks unorganized and cheap.

I think Acura would sell a lot more of them if the USA spec version looked like the pic above. The wheels are nicer than the USA version as well. The grille on the USA version isn't as 'in your face' as the other Acuras, but the power plenum still doesn't work for me. I used a TSX for 2 days late last year as a loaner. It was a pretty nice car, but the ride was a little harsh (maybe because the suspension wasn't broken in yet). That said, I was happy to be back in the TL once I got it back.

I might consider the TSX if I was in the market for a new car, but only if something happened to the TL. I plan to keep it at least to 200K miles.

to answer the OP's question- if the TSX V6 was mated to a 6MT and SHAWD- I would strongly consider it.

I went from a TL-S to a TSX and right back to a TL. The newer ones are very nice and worth consideration. I got rid of mine because it was too small for me. I loved driving it thoough and it was hard to part with. The TL is just much better to so many ways. i didnt get the best MPGs with my TSX either ( 23 MPG average). Also i had a lot of probelems with mine too (2004), but i doubt you could even compare the 1 gen with the 2nd. I personally liked the grill, headlights, and tailights on all TSXs. But at the end of the day you can basically get a TSX for about the same price as a TL.
