XLR8 Mounts vs Innovative Mounts - FIGHT!
Hey guys
Well the TLS has been on the road since the 07 tranny swap for like 2000, running great. I think I messed up, well I know I messed up lol. I bought eBay mounts since mine were shot to hell, only 63k on the TLS to. I read a couple descent reviews on AZ and said what the hell, and I got them.
They were fine for like a month then I feel the motor vibrating a but to much. I put it in D with the brake held and it looked like the motor wanted to come out and go for a walk. So now Im stuck with these shitty mounts and I'm thinking of changing them again to something a bit stronger even though the ride quality will suffer because of the stiffness. I wouldn't care since I have Poly mounts in the Accord but this is the wifey's car, I talked to her the other day and she doesn't give a shit, just wants it fixed.
I did get scared way from Innovative because I saw a member here with a deformed mount after a couple thousand miles. But maybe it was a rare occasion so I need your opinions, which are better, XLR8 or Innovative?

I was reading your comments on another thread, so you like them, your making me sway my vote lol. I had the mounts changed when the shop did my trans but I don't feel like paying for that, install wasn't to bad? Rear looks like the worst.

I'm going to run the xlr8 mounts, but I'm waiting to do them when I swap my motor. That way the install will be easy plus iirc the xlr8 minutes come with a lifetime warranty.

Yea I saw that, really got warped
True, I looked at your front mount pic of the XLR8 mounts and it looks tough
Yea I like the lifetime warranty, what motor are you going with?

I'm going with a mdx 3.5 engine then having the heads ported and polished and installing 08 tl s cams on the car. Once I do that and finish up my last few mods I should have a pretty quick car if I can traction in first and second. I want the xlr8 mounts because they will be able to handle the abuse better and I'll be able to get more power down and better traction.

I got the newer vertical style inovative mounts for auto trans and could not be happier with my choice.
I do take the car to the strip so the car/mounts see plenty of abuse and I see no issues what so ever.
In between 2 times I went I installed the inovatives and reduced some weight and I picked up .23 in the 1/8 which is great. I think it would relate to .4 or so in the 1/4.
With numbers like that how could you not choose the inovatives ?

I'd like someone to give a solid answer though since the innovative mounts were re designed.

can anyone else chime in with the new innovative design? i'm in the market for mounts but only hear things about xlr8 good and bad. seems like most went with xlr8 but as a previous engineer designer the new design of innovative seems intriguing

I've seen richardparker run at the strip He's legit!!!! I personally only have experience with xlr8 and could not be happier, you vibration at idle but moving there great! Either way your going to be way better off then with OEM mounts.
