2001 TL High Idle
I have a 2001 TL that has just started to idle high at times.
When started cold, it will idle around 1000 rpms until is warms up, then will idle around 750 or so.
When the ac is on, and driving between 40 -50 mph, when i let off the accelerator, the speed will not go below 40 or so.
At times when I am at a stopped with the ac on, the car will accelerate on its own when i release the brake pedal.
I have done the following:
Cleaned the intake of all the carbon. The throttle body as well.
The throttle and cruise control cables are clean and lubed. They do not bind up.
I replaced the IAC valve.
The code reader is not picking up any codes.
Any help?

Try cleaning your throttle plates and bore with throttle body cleaner. If that doesn't work then check the throttle wires because one may be slightly tighter than the other.

Interesting...
Have you tried checking the throttle to see if it is sticking with the car off?
So let me see if I got this right:
Your car idles at 1000 RPMs until warmed up.
It idles normally at 750 RPMs.
With the a/c on it idles at 900 RPMs.
Well my car idles at 1000 RPMs until driven about 1/4 of a mile. It idles at 750 RPMs which I believe it normal and idles at 900 RPMs.
Either this is normal or we both have something wrong.

ok, i will explain it another way. I do a lot of driving on roads where the speed limit goes from 55 to 45 to 35 when entering a town. I typically set my cruise control at 55, and turn it off when i see the first warning sign to slow to 45. For the last couple of years of driving this road, my car will start to slow down after the cruise is shut off, and ends up at 45 by the time I reach that sign.
So, now I am seeing that when i shut off the cruise, it does not always start to slow down. But, it is not slowing down when I do not use the cruise control and take my foot off the accelerator as well.
Today I have noticed it will idle at 1200 rpms or so periodically, even after warmed up.
But, not all of the time, which makes troubleshooting difficult.

Your cruise control switch may be malfunctioning.
Something like this happened with my fog lights. I replaced the relay and bulbs and it still didn't work. Then I replaced the switch and it worked fine.
This may be the same for your switch because it may be on it's way out.

If its idling that high you may have a TPS sensor thats false reading.

Hi all, sorry to bring this up again, but i couldnt find anything on this specific problem. when i start the car, the rpm goes to 1k than to 1500 and drops to 1k and once the car is warm it drops to 750 like it should, just the beginning is kina wierd. so after 30 min of driving, the rpm in nutral or park go up to 1k, sometimes a tap on gas fixes the problem untill you put it in drive and reach the next lights. and you tput in in nutral and the rpm is either 1.5k or 1k or somewhere in between, but it doesnt jump, it just stays there.
so i know its not IAC cause i changed it few months ago. my tb is clean. i did seafoamlike 6 months ago, now i dont know what to do. Any one had this issue and know how to fix it. please let me know,
