Headlight adjust
My headlights (2010 RDX) were replaced under warranty and I was told that the aim was set to factory spec. They are fine for my use and I don't really want to lower them but I keep getting flashed as if I have brights on. Anyone have similar experience? How do you set your aim? Thanks

Jus flash them back! Ha. Used to happen to me in my '04 TL. In that car the HID's were also reflected when the high beam switch was triggered. (no DRLs/highs) So whenever I got flashed I'd flash mine and probably blind them.

"Factory Spec" may not be correct, as this^ AZ member found out.

On the back of the HID lights is a sort of wheel with gear teeth. Above, molded into the headlight body, is a U-shaped arrow, with U and D letters. You are supposed to insert a Phillips screwdriver, vertically, and turn the geared wheel.
Or you can also use a 10mm socket on the nut on the back of the wheel. Looking at the nut, righty-tighty will RAISE the headlight aim.
I set my headlights so that the top of the sharp cut-off is a few inches below the rear window, that is, just below the top of the rear trunk lid, on a car that is about 10 car lengths in front of my own 09 RDX, when driving on level ground.
To verify that both the left (driver) and right side lights are set equally, I just let the lights shine against my garage door, and stand in front of the driver headlight, and I move side-to-side (block/ unblocking the left headlight), and verify that the top cut-off of both lights is set at an equal height.
Put a red fingernail polish mark on the geared adjust wheels before you start, so that you know how far you are turning the adjustment wheels.
The factory spec is to set the headlight cut-off tops, about 2-3 inches below the middle of the headlight, at 25 feet distance, when shined against a wall.
