I bought this a while back with plans to upgrade the stereo, but decided not to.

This will allow you to bypass the stock amp and then use RCA cables to after market amps.

so it has 6 channels? you can connect 4 speakers on say Channel 2 and 3 and the sub and center speaker on main channel?

How do you control the volume? How about Bass and Treble control?

Its a line output convertor, there are built in gain controls like a line driver to boost signal strength. This is one thing that makes it such a great unit, it makes the signal stronger, so less noise etc.. It has 3 sets of preouts, so you can use Y adapters after that to connect to more amps. Just using the 3 in a typical setup will cover front, rear and sub.

aah ok....

I have a Clarion ES7xxx (something) installed and it takes in the input from my phone (3.5mm, Y split) and outputs to 6 channels....I have been wanting to replace it and hence asked....guess this is not something that I would need....

Just bought one myself for $189 brand new. It has 4 channels for speakers and two for subs basically. It clears the signal and is a line output converter all at once with adjustable gain controls as well. Great great unit. Haven't got mine hooked up yet because I'm building a whole system all at once. I'm hooking it with a JL amp, JL sub, and all new focal speakers. GLWS and whoever buys it won't be disappointed
