6" Headrest monitors in 07 TL-S
Hey everyone I have started my headrest monitor project and completed one headrest and wanted to share. I bought two 6" monitors off ebay that swivel up and down. I read "mmade22" DIY thread (https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/diy-install-two-5-6-inch-monitors-headrest-631884/) on his install. VERY VERY helpful and need to read before you start this. One thing I done differently was running the wires down the headrest poles. This is my first time doing something like this and think the first headrest came out nice. I have several pictures but if you all are interested I can take more photo's when I start the second headrest for more in depth photos or possibly another DIY thread if you all would like. Hope you all enjoy!
The initial inventory. I cut to the connector on the monitor to the right in order to extend it through the headrest pole.
Inside there are 2 metal bars about an inch or so deep towards the bottom. I cut these bars out with my dremel.
Test fitting the monitor without the frame.
Completed the first headrest.
Found an old DVD player for a video signal and wired the monitor to the battery for power testing it out for the first time.

^^^Thanks...mmade22 has a great thread on this. It is waaaay easier than I thought to cut the headrest. I felt like a doctor waiting to make his first incision during surgery...lol. I'll post more in depth pics later when I start the second headrest.

That looks great! Perfect fit! I'd like to do this later when my daughter is older so she can watch stuff back there.
I do have a question, do you often go off road or mudding, perhaps safari touring with your tl-s? Your under hood cover is about as dirty as it was on my off road bound grand Cherokee

Thanks!~
I would invest insome. Also aftermarket headrests are "too thin" compared to our factory headrests and they will not look right nor feel comfortable. I tried a few set of aftermarket headrest monitors for car audio shops and they were very uncomfortable. If you need help with the Navtool or Doms unit install just let me know!~
Thanks...its good to "finally" be done with this project....lol.
Our headrest poles are hollow so when you cut into the headrest you have to dremel a hole into the headrest pole. Check out my DIY with pics.......
