What were you shooting with?

I've been doing well, just trying to get through these finals and such. I've started a new job and it's okay I guess. Something is better than nothing. I'm trying to save up to get my wheels and some other parts powdercoated but I keep thinking about getting new wheels instead. At the same time I've been trying to convince myself to stop pouring money into a depreciating asset. Meh.

What's new with you? How's the car treating you? How many miles are on it now?

Shooting with my Evo phone...lol.
Sounds good and exciting man...if you weren't so busy, you'd be bored!
About putting money into a depreciating asset...the way I look at it now (within reason) I was so close to getting another car and dumping money into lowering that and taxes and so on and so on...so might as well pay this one off and make it look nice.

Just installed my comptech short shifter on Saturday...all I can say is if you haven't done it...DO IT! The throws are so much shorter and so much more precise...LOVE it.
Tonight I got my "monsterknobs" shift knob...40 shipped with a 30 day return guarantee...made of resin so doesn't get hot or cold and it feels nice and sits probably a 3/4" lower than the stock shifter.

As far as life, I'm happy, man. Engaged, just got promoted, house is another story but hopefully I'll figure that out. I stay busy with my hobbies...namely, car, biking, just started playing basketball...
Car has almost 62K miles on her.
Here's a shot of the shifter...nice, clean and simple...round the way I wanted it...and no writing on it, I know where the gears are

I think the shifter looks awesome! It flows nicely with the interior and I like how it won't get hot or cold.

Btw congrats on the engagement

Thanks guys...very much.
Yeah, got lucky, lighting was perfect...taken with my EVO phone...not totally sharp, but ok.
I'm picky when it comes to knobs, I like that it looks like it COULD have come with the car...since I left the silver trim etcetera...it shortens the throw a bit, and feels nice since you can rest your hand on top rather than having to hold it on the side.

sidemarker relays

and the silver painted rusty areas...look a LOT cleaner now that the brakes made the silver line perfectly straight...

I will admit, it's all in the details...lol...

PS...I was cursing up a storm...installed first relay...sidemarker worked, but not with the lights on...switched the red input/harness side...and it super hyperblinked...almost gave up...but then tried the OTHER relay I had made and it worked...
Took off the electrical tape and what do you know...even with my super meticulousness and ONLY 4 diodes to get right...I managed to solder one of them on backward (can be seen in first few pics)...quick fix...luckily!

Thanks, man, was kinda iffy on whether or not to do it, but now that I've seen it with the car clean etc...I kinda think it sets it off...all in the details!

About the sidemarker thingy...look up that thread, it's not that hard to do...25 bucks and about an hour of your time...totally worth it IMO.

I may be a bit biased but I think your car looks better with the gunmetal aspecs. I think they give it a better contrast.

Still looking great, keep it up.

Yeah, I felt that way too...so I slapped em back on for 2 weeks. I immediately missed the works and cleaned em up and put them back on. Ironically, the 2nd go around my whole family and friends took notice and LOVED the work wheels. Even old people sometimes stop me on the street to tell me how amazing the wheels look up close.
Although obviously, my car is for me and no one else...it does sometimes annoy me that the aspecs are everywhere out there now. Plus, my gf LOVES the aspecs on her car...lol.

Pretty sure calipers are girl parts...
About the emblems...I did black chrome, then back to chrome, then red, then anodized red. Now, I delved into the realm of Amp'd emblems, which I love and come chrome...left them that way and love it.

Thanks man! Funny enough, when I did this, I thought "maybe I shouldn't have touched it, but once cleaned up...it did look pretty good. WIll likely do this to my girls accord too. Didn't tape off caliper...just wiped down with goof off, then rubbing alcohol.

Midway thru, I almost did switch to black, but then my fiance came out and told me she liked the contrast. Maybe if I ever redo them, I'll switch it up. A local guy did his in blue...he has WDP and it looks pretty good, but not the look I wanted.

yeah i might do mine after winter....the winter here in Kansas kills the paint....its snowed/iced here just once this year and my black stockies are chipping so are the calipers

i was thinking on throwing some blue in there as I wanted to do my calipers blue as well....but i thought that would make it look wayyy too ricey rather than nice....so blue calipers and black hubs is what i decided against....

Hmmm...yeah, I tend to agree. I did red, then blue calipers on my 97 accord, but that was a different time/era. I even got sick of it on there....shined thru and took away from the wheels. Black/silver and clean is the way to go.

Then again, I'm lucky all I have to deal with is the summer and MILD winter, no snow or salt or anything.

I just used 2 publix bags...covered the caliper and the brake dust shield....then sprayed liberally and spun it around to get all the areas (with the lug studs taped off). Then goof off on a paper towel to get the bulk off, then rubbing alcohol to leave the metal clean, then braking took care of the rest...burnt off the excess and left the paint lines straight.

Took about an hour to do all 4 sides.

Lol...I tend to agree, I love my girls' 8th gen...but wouldn't trade her
I would say that if I did have her car, I'd be all over coils and some vossen wheels. Great job!

I've had my alignment done 3 more times since the original pics...and now have front camber kits. The front is sitting at zero and the rear is -.5 so basically straighter than factory specs. I hate wasting tires!

For some reason i see your TOE is way off . Look at the rear tire and you'll see that is not sitting center .

What front camber kit are you running? I have Ingalls in the rear but can't decide what to use for the front.
