Sounds great. Wish the video was longer though ha.

What kind of power did you make before/after the tune? Did you dyno the cams as well? Very interested about this.

How do you like the K-Tuned shifter base? I was on edge about getting it, but most people on here poo pooed it so I've held off.

If it feels similar to adding some solid bushings to the cables, no thanks - that was one of the crappiest mods I'd ever done and was removed in 2 minutes.

I'm looking for a solid "top loader" type feel, if that makes any sense.

Any dyno numbers after the tune? I know I can search on cam info, but does Bisi release their cam specs? It seems like they all go for increased duration which will also move power higher - I have never seen any 'high lift' cams which I think would be a better route. There must be something else limiting lift as I don't think I've seen anything even approach .500 lift, and I'd want to see close to .550 on stock heads, even with mild duration increase.

I didn't notice you had the K-tuned shifter. Probably feels great.

ScreaminZ: I believe the rockers limit the cam lift, hence the reason for nothing in the .5xx range. Bisi did release their specs but I cannot find them on their site anymore....weird.

Im really loving the k-tuned shifter, i had the short shifter before and i can definitely notice a huge difference in how solid and precise the shifts feel, it really makes the car feel more like a sportscar.

No its not a 4" intake its just an aem cold air intake.

The last time i dynoed before i got all the work done and also before i got the flashpro and it did 257 whp on a mustang dyno, this time after all this work it made 310whp/269tq on a mustang dyno on 19" wheels. So i am very pleased with it. Im gonna stay NA for a while, gonna continue modding

i think i might bore to 3.7-3.8 if possible for next season. im really enjoying this setup right now. she pulls hard all the way, i havent redlined it yet but im shifting at 7500-7600rpm but not dropping the clutch hard at all, im gonna take it easy on clutch for first 1000kms. Quicker shifting will be the key, especially with the clutch/flywheel/shifter base upgrades, the drivetrain feel silky smooth and solid. i forgot to mention i did a Tranny fluid flush as well.

actually on second though i might do BBK next lol. we will see.....

sounds great and looks good too! what exhaust mods do you have besides the 3rd cat delete? was your tune a dyno tune or an etune, i'm guessing dyno tune?

The rest of my mods are in my sig, and yes i got a dyno tune done at a very reputable shop/tuner in Woodbridge,Ont who speciallizes in acura/honda vehicles. Great guys, the tuner is a parts manager at Acura Richmond Hill and the mechanic is a honda wiz, hes been doing them for over 15yrs and hes good and fast with installs. You should see his 91 NSX 601whp!! On the same dyno i was tuned on.

Wow, I can really hear the cams in that video. The car sounds ridiculous. You should try contacting the shop where you dyno'd to see if they can send you the graph. I'm sure they still have it. Would love to see the graph(s).

Which mods did you have for each dyno? 310 on a Mustang seems high to me, but who knows. Are you still on the stock valvetrain as well? Great choice on mods. A larger CAI will definitely gain you a good amount also, considering your mod list.

When you said you were shifting at 7500-7600 rpms I thought it was a typo but after seeing that video you weren't kidding!

Your the first 3G I've seen that has the RedLine beyond 7500 rpms. I'm sure there are a few other members here that can do the same but I haven't seen any other video besides yours. Must be awesome

I also really love how vtec sounds now, before i could barely tell it was in vtec range, no u can really hear it kick in at around 5200rpm.

Ive only dynoed twice unfortunately soni dont know how much hp before and after cams alone and stuff like that

I noticed you said you haven't hit the redline and have only been shifting at 7500-7600 RPMs.... What's your redline at now with the cams?

Well i just took her to 7900 and still no redline, havent pluggged it into laptop yet. 7700- 7800 seems to be a sweet spot for shifting and roughly were power seems to drop off

I thought with these cams you had to have Supertech springs and retainers? I swear that's what the person you bought them from said. There's no valvefloat at 7800+ with them on the stock valvetrain? I know they aren't high lift (I swear if this gets figured out we will se MASSIVE gains from cams) so maybe the added duration must moves the powerband up, but the stock valvesprings can handle the mediocre lift?

Pretty sweet setup. I agree though, that 310 on a Mustang seems high; I'd expect ~310 SAE on a Dynojet. 53 whp gained seems huge from Flashpro, cams, 3.7 top swap and third cat delete, but then again, Bisi cammed cars are new ground, so who knows. I will say you've got balls revving close to 8k on the OEM valve train! And for sure, you should add a 4" intake.

Phew. You said earlier you were on the stock valvetrain. Maybe stock valves, but not the valvesprings and retainers. That makes a lot more sense.

Love the Airaid. Stealth black > shiny aluminum

I just bought the #100-400 tubing kit, then bought an AEM filter and clamps/couplers separately. Total cost was under $200 IIRC.

Are you running the k-tuned full shifter setup or just the base plate? I want to get the full shifter for my 2nd gen cl, but not sure it would work/fit. It looks like our shifter assemblies are different. Do you have any pics of it installed?

What bushings did you install? The corsport solid bushings? I am using the hybrid racing bushings instead and this is why quoted from their website:

"Don’t be fooled into thinking that all shifter cable bushings are created equal. Many companies make the mistake of assuming both bushings used in the k-series shifter cables can be replaced with solid metal or delrin bushing. This is not the case. Honda uses rubber bushings in their cables because it’s a cost-effective way to allow 2-degrees of freedom. A solid metal or delrin bushing allows only 1-degree of freedom. Generally speaking, eliminating a degree of freedom in the bushings translates into more effort required to shift and the potential to bend and ruin your shifter cables.

That’s why the Hybrid Racing incorporates a chrome-plated steel spherical bearing into their shifter bushings. This gives the crisp, notchy feel you expect from shifter bushings without the extra effort required to shift, like other brands of bushings."

On my car I am running the hybrid racing cable bushings, solid aluminum base shifter bushings, and Pspec short shifter and it is way better than stock setup. It shifts smoother and removes some of the vague feeling from the rubber bushings.

i had installed the corpsort solid bushing a few years ago and they are still working out great. yes i have the whole shifter setup from K-tuned. i dont have any pics of it installed cuz i didint do it myself but either way there is nothing to see cuz its under the console.

No i did not use the same dyno for both occasions but i am trying to get a hold of the guy who dynoed my car the first time so i can bring to his place and see what it is putting down on his.

yes i am having some throttle hanging issues but very minor. i posted a reply in the https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/thinking-about-swapping-my-3-7im-tb-back-stock-3-5-a-903938/
hopefully my input will help get us closer to a solution from Hondata just like they were able to do for the K series boys.

i love this car and motor and i am very pleased with the performance i have gained so far and i truly believe that it has more to untap, its just the lil problems/issues now, this generation TL is relatively new to the tuning scene so i will be patient and give it some time to pick up steam, we have already come so far in the last 3-4 years.

i will keep you all posted with videos and info as it comes in.

ps. i will be tracking the car after i get it corner balanced and broken in the clutch nicely, then i will have some better videos to post
