'05 Acura TL rear lip HELP
Hey guys, I was wondering can I just put on a TYPE S rear lip rather then the ASPEC lip? Will there be any mods to do? I do have the rear Aspec rear lip in WDP but i want to add 3.5 quad exhaust tips on it. I know that the tips are way to way and will not fit the aspec rear lip. My car is an 05 base just with full aspec lip kit on it. Any helps would be great!

So you want to go quad tips (07-08 TYPE-S) but have a Base 04-06 rear ASPEC lip? You have two options or you can cut up your bumper if your handy.
1.) Remove Rear Base ASPEC Rear Lip and fit a Type-S ASPEC rear (there's DIY thread on here)
or
2.) Buy a Type-S bumper and install, they fit on a 04-06 Base TL... How do I know? I've done it

Nicely done! Thanks, I am assuming its interchangable. Why did'nt you get the type S apec rears too added onto the bumper?

I'm going to answer this for you.
Yes modifications are required to fit a Type-S ASPEC LIP onto a rear base 04-08 bumper.
The modification you have to do is pretty much taking a dremel and cutting the exhaust openings bigger on both sides of your base rear bumper. The reason being is because the exhaust opening for the base model is narrow compared to the Type-S model. By cutting the exhaust openings a little wider you'll be able to slide the Type-S ASPEC lip over it to fit.
It sounds very scary because your cutting your bumper up but once the Type-S ASPEC lip is over it nobody will ever know.
I have a base model and cut my bumper up to install the Type-S lip.
Unlike most people that modify their base bumper to fit the Type-S lip, my rear bumper garnish is still in use.
Other people completely cut the bumper up and theres no garnish. You can look through the opening and see the ground.
Some people create their own garnish
