Thank you Zack for your insightful, informational, and fact-based assessment of the 3-series and it's owners. Acurazine needs more members like you who do their research, state facts without bias or commentary, and articulate them with precision. Bravo!

was watching the season finale of top gear, and they were giving out awards.
One of the awards was for the ugliest car of the year, and guess who took it?
the new BMW 3series.

Looks like 1sicklex is up to his old tricks again.

I gotta say that I have had some bad experiences with BMW drivers but the reality is that they are not worse than drivers of any other cars on the road. Fact remains, people in this country cannot drive. There are just a lot of BMW drivers.

i am assuming you are familiar with 1slicklex...

absolude tried to defend the tsx, but, to no success.

i didn't realize, until i began surfing car forums, how hostile people can be over X vs Y threads.

enthusiasts or fanboys? depends who you ask, i guess...

I don't know why BMW drivers think they're all arrogant.

Don't you know? It's because we're better then everyone else.

Just kidding. I see arrogant drivers in all makes and models. The worst offenders I see are usually in modded ricers these days.

When I was a kid it was Cadillac drivers that were the worst.

haha... yeah, I had subscribed to this from so long ago too!!

The new Civic (Si especailly, what else) is giving me the creeps as I picture young punks barely got their license zipping around traffic in a 197HP "entry level" car... to think I had endured 5 years of the 82HP Tercel before buying my own 195HP Prelude...

BMW and MB drivers have the opinion that because they just spend $40K on a new german enginereed car that it also came with a 95% ownership of the fast lane and are exempt from any law of the road so they are allowed to do what they like. Just this morning I had a confrontation with a MB driver that was so anxious to get past me and a bunch more cars on a two lane road that he kept switching back and forth and flasj=hing his lights. WHATEVER !!!

See I have the opposite problem. I come across an unpleasant multitude of affluent mongoloids who can't seem to match the speed limit. Those who DO the speed limit seem to enjoy sitting in the passing lane unaware of anyone around them. Thank God I bought a car with riDICulously bright lights. Now if I can just find a way to properly mount a paintball gun controlled from the steering wheel that can fire out the front. A necessary reminder for those who've forgotten the rest of the world matters.

On the other hand I've come across many excellent and considerate drivers of these car. Just trying to be fair.

That's your opinion. I happen to think, as do a lot of BMW owners, that this is the first car in the Bangle era that they got right. I like it better then the E46. As far as the car itself the jury is still out but early returns are that it sets a new standard.

Having said all that I still just purchased a TSX rather then a new 3'er. My main reasons were value (a comparably equipped E90 is at least 10K more) and reduced HP/performance. My wife and son will be driving the TSX and neither care about raw power. The TSX was a better fit for what I was looking for. It has ample enough power, is as comfortable as a 3'er costing 1000's more, handles very well and is fun to drive.

Ok I happen to be 18 yrs old and drive a new BMW and now as of today a new 06 Acura TSX. I do not feel that I am an arrogant person nonetheless an arrogant driver. That's not to say that I dont have fun when driving my car as well. Maybe some people choose to drive that way because (IMO)BMW is a name whore or that while driving a BMW just gives you gives you that freedom. Or maybe the people that dont like BMW drivers are just jealous that we are in a BMW and they are not?

Stop being so arrogant rich boy

as a side note I'm ridiculously happy that I went with the 06 TSX instead of a 3 for personal reasons, but that's not to say that jealousy doesn't run rampant in our society. To tell you the truth when someone asks what car I drive I'm always hesitant to tell them it's a brand new Acura because I think they'll judge me negatively. But that's mostly because I grew up in a town where you were a bastard if you had any kind of money.

word up. i live in an affluent area so most of the ppl around my age were given a brand new car for themselves to drive... i was handed down my mom's accord. and even tho now im working and am paying for my TSX on my own, ppl here give you that implied message that im a spoiled kid cuz daddy bought me a tsx.

even my mom's friends upon seeing my car perceive me as being lucky for having such a nice car and they're first comment is "your so lucky that your parents let you have this car"
