tires and wheels
Everybody seems to be putting on 225/45/17
Will 225/50/17 not work with the stock cls rims?
Does it look wider, as the width is 7 inches? Or would I have to change wheels to get the wider effect.
Thanks

As for other tire brands, not sure about 235/45/17s

an adult perspective
Zapata has 225/50's on his stock rims, which I saw Sunday in Philly, and they look very aggresive - especially when compared to the OEM Mich's. I'm still planning on going the 235/45 route since these are overall closer to OEM spec, plus AllMotor sent me some pics of his 235/45's on the stock '03 -S rims and they look great! Nobody who has mounted 235/45's on stock 17's have reported any problems of any kind.

I just ordered a new set of S03 in 225-45-ZR17 at 174.00 each. Awesome tires ! Isn't summer here ?

To go from 50 series to 40 series tires, you really should change the wheels to 18". This is the standard Plus One upgrade without compromising the speedo accuracy

I've been through the stock MXM4's and a set of S0-3's (BTW I loved the tires copletely awsome just don't last as long as I'd like, but they stick to the bitter end, mine look like slicks right now and are still great tires)(245/45R17) at 34,000 miles. Right now I believe the next set of tires I will get will be a 235/45R17 Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP, does anyone know anything about them?
