Small oil leak around oil pressure sensor - help
I took my CL-S in for an oil change (Mobil 1 Syn) and tire rotation yesterday and in the "Comments" section of the "Acura Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection Checklist", the tech noted:
"has a small oil leak around oil pressure sensor"
First of all, where is the oil pressure sensor? And what could be causing the leak - any common problems in/around this area that you know of?

The sensor is #17, located on the oil filter housing. Theres an o-ring on it:
#29, part number 91319-PR3-003, lists for $2.50. Isn't difficult to install but you may get some oil leaking out when you pull out the sensor. Its possible its the o-ring from the solenoid (#15) too.

Perfect, thank you! Is this relatively easy to get to and replace both o-rings on my own, I hope?? I know my way around my Miata and Focus (ZETEC) engine but the CL has been such an easy car to maintain, I am not as familiar under the hood .

oil pressure sensor
[IMG] I'm trying to find where the oil pressure sensor is located. I installed a new variable valve timing switch (#17 on the drawing) and from what I can see, it appears the oil pressure sensor is just inches away. Is it covered by a black plastic/rubber Hershey"s Kiss shaped cover? If so, does it just come off by pulling it or does it unscrew? Do I need to drain the oil prior to removing the oil pressure sensor? Thanks

^^Yes, the oil pressure sender has a boot over it. Peel the boot back (sometimes they're stiff, and will crack). The wire terminal is a spade type; it pulls straight off. You don't have to drain the oil.
