normally i'd say this is a cock tease, but i know you guys and ross will do it one way or the other. good luck, it'll look sharp. i like that lip a lot better than the 02-03 TL-S lip kit. just make sure you find a good way to support the middle.

actually we are almost done! we bought 5 gallons of bondo so we're just going to keep smearing that shit on till it holds.

i know i know. just started this afternoon and i need to go tomorrow to pick up some more goodies. it has been difficult to get our schedules to mesh and kick this off. this thread will be ongoing, hence the tags at the bottom for my searches. sit back and crack a beer!

Nice project! How about a DIY for this. I am sure I could do it but it would be nice to see how you do it and what the final product looks like.

kids, Clean is correct!! the TL lip is to short and must be widened in order to fit properly (at least in my case).

Looking good, guys. Are you really just holding it on with Bondo? Either way, I know you'll do a clean job.

i can assure you that there is no TL lip for the 99-01 or 02-03 that is wider than the CL. you got the wrong part or you are blind. you can tell it needs to be wider just by holding it up to the car.

the lip is OEM TL Lip. says inside it. with the parts number. if u hole itup it sticks out a good 2 1/2 inches. thats why im confused.... maybe its a 3g lip?

im not angry sweet cheeks. im trying to educate you and bring you out of your newbness. there have been more than 1 TL lip fabbed to fit our cars, and not a single one was too wide.

it depends on how well you lay the glass, the quality of the glass, and how much glass you use. fiberglass can take a pretty good beating, but yes it can crack. the glass is only going to be reinforcing the lip at the mounting points and where it was cut. i think its going to be OK. there are other options like carbon kevlar, or carbonfiber reinforced fiberglass, but im not interested in doing all that.

anyone that knows me knows that i am super careful driving my car and avoid bumps and dips at all costs.

Man, its crazy that you're getting the lip considering how low your car is already. With some of the driveways in Austin I'm afraid I'll take my lip off, and my car isn't even close to dumped. Big ups, though. It's gonna look really, really nice when all is said and done.

Sweet deal, man. Who are you getting to paint the bumper, or are you painting it yourself? My front lip needs repainting after some idiot dropped a ton of moving blankets onto the highway.

i just dont like sideskirts or rear lips that reach up the side of the car. it looks tacky and ricey to me. just reminds me of the old bodykits fromt he 90s that used to mount like that:

if the RJ sides/rear was molded it would look pretty cool. i remember someone on the forums here had it done, but i dont think they post anymore.
