Min. post count to make new thread

Been seeing a lot of useless threads pop up from new members. Suggest having a minimum post count before anyone can make a new thread.

While I agree with this idea, I don't think it will stop the useless threads from popping up. New members will just post uselessly to up their post count, and then start a new useless thread.

i kind of figured that it would force them to search for whatever they are making a thread about (95% of the time it's been answered before).
it's better to bump an old thread than to make a new one imo.

Personally, I think the "New Post" button should redirect to the Search page.

I guess as a new member, why the the 5 most rule, why not let them post any place, I signed up to talk in a certain forum area but not allowed to until I have 5 posts, but if I was posting in the RDX area that I wanted I would have 5 post in a day that was not like blaa blaa style post,

well just my 2 cents.

thanks

I know....
how about making newbies take an IQ test then write a short essay on why they should be allowed to join. no really. keeps out the riff raff.

this one makes five right?

As a new user, I agree with the banality of this idea, especially if I am looking for a hard-to-find part and actually need to make a WTB post.

I'm beyond 5 post and still cant make a FS thread. I've searched "Admin" but it brought up a crap load of threads not related to contacting them. Guess I'll continue to "Search" lol

According the the Post Count in your 07/16/14 thread above, that post was number 5.
