The motor in the Vigor is G25A1 & is equipped with 5 speed manual.

The motor in the 2.5TL is G25A4 & is ONLY equipped with auto.

What's the difference b/t G25A1 & G25A4?

and do u think its possible to turn a 2.5TL into a 5 speeder?

One is OBDI, the other is OBDII. You can convert it to 5 speed if you can mount the slave cylinder, etc. onto the firewall, and cut a hole out for the clutch pedal.

If I am right 2.5 was available in 95 as well. OBD II was made mandatory on all 96 and newer vehicles. If you can find a 95 2.5TL and swap over everything I think you will be fine.

It was an option on pre-96 cars. The 95 is also OBDII.

I understand what are you saying. Most of 95 GM cars have OBD II and they have connectors as well but we don't use them when doing smog which we do with all 96+ cars for any check engine light issues and OBD monitors. If someone is serious about swapping MT over I am sure they are ready for all the work involved also.
