235/55/17 tires

so i currently have 235/45/17 and i purchased 4 used winter tires that are 235/55/17. My question is will the 235/55/17 have enough clearance/no rubbing on an 05 acura tl? I went to a local tire store today and the tire guy said it is a little too big for my car and it will rub. Is that true? Is it possible to put these tires on without complications?

235/5517 are almost 2 inches taller than OEM tires, way outside OEM specs. I don't know if they will rub, but will decrease acceleration, mpg's, handling and throw the speedo way off. Sell those and stick with the OEM size.

ya too big for your car if you want to change the dimension then go with an equivalent like a 225/50/17 which is not as wide (better in the snow) and a little higher (again better in snow) that's what i'm riding on in the winter....

since you have them already throw them on... rock them for the winter... if all 4 are the same size you will only throw your speedo off... if you don't speed then you are ok

pictures?

Would you happen to have any pictures of your TL with the 225/50R17's?

I'm curious to know how much that size differs from stock in terms of appearance.

Like, do the sidewalls look rounder and is the wheel well filled more.
