Got a '94 Legend as the daily. Cobalt fried a ring this year so it's getting a new forged motor and big turbo. What are you running on the GTI?

He's done a few sets from what he told me a month or so ago. I could do it by myself but its always better to have someone who's done it to help out. He bought a ton of clamps to hold it back together when its done.

I have some JDM 1pc lights for the Legend I picked up a few months back, I'd really love to get some projectors in there. Been holding off on installing them.

cute snail

I hear you though, big power with FWD can get sketchy. With the s256 on the cobalt it should push around 500 at 30psi. The car will be useless haha. You running corn?

E85 on a tune with boost can get some great numbers. Why must the TL be such a bitch to boost at a hefty cost with low gains... Dammit! I want boost, and bags, fat chance in those happening to the TL.

E85 is a hoot! Sucks being in East Dallas though the closest station to me is about 15 miles away. One of the reasons I picked up the Legend.

Would I need to change my tune to run E85? I have separate tunes on the car, 91, 93 and 103 octane. Plus a few others like valet and one that brings it back to stock.

Whats up with E85....total noob here.

Yeah Ethan, you would need a seperate tune for E85. All your systems have to be compatible with E85 though. Fuel pump, fuel lines, injectors, etc. You can get some great #'s off E85, I would look into it by whoever tunes your car and see if they recommend it or not for your setup. Most guys I know who drag race use E85. A guy I used to work with has a boosted GMC Sonoma that's wicked fast! I'll try and post a video if I can find kne

E85 is race gas for the street. Cheaper than paying for C16. And it works just needs slightly more fueling and changing over lines/orings/pump (if you have enough capacity then this can be ignored) and injector. You will have to factor about a 20% increase in fuel. You can make good numbers on e85 mainly you can dick with the timing a lot more and make a lot more torque out of it. Most people I know run E85 are pushing 650-900 at the rear wheels.

sounds like its more trouble than its worth. Hell if I have a tune for 103 octane why dont i just run that if I find that gas somewhere. which by the way I dont think ill ever do. this is my daily driver. I need this car. I cant afford blowing it up.

Being your DD, E85 prob isn't a good idea mainly due to the MPG factor. The cobalt went from 35 to 21mpg highway. It's VERY hard to knock on corn, also burns cooler resulting in lower EGTs. I was able to advance timing to 26* compared to 19* on 93.

Has anyone sold tires before? Is there much of a market to sell meaty 19" summer tires? Seems like a small market because of the size.

I don't like having to switch to my oem wheels whenever it snows.

Who made up paddle-shifting and who else thought it was a brilliant idea?! It's weird...

Travis...I screwed around with some of the pictures I took of your car (finally)... You probably won't like them as I do not have a fancy camera, but...

Yet you watch a racing series that has run paddle shift transmissions for the last 25 years.

so....does that mean I have to like it?

also, the speeds they're running they need both hands on the wheel. So ill give them a break.

The speeds they run and a quick ratio rack requires hands on steering wheel at all times. A slight hint of unnecessary movement at speed = wall.

No, but hard to call something for "pussies" when it evolved out of motorsports for the same reason it was implemented.

This would probably be the car for you, though. "Best" of both worlds.

It doesn't really matter if it's Formula 1 or not; nearly every racing series has adopted it for one reason. It's much faster.

Me calling it for pussies is no different than Clarkson calling people who drive a certain car cocks. I dont see you defending them? It was just me trying to be funny and you taking it literally. I dont need a history lesson on why they've been adopted.

I like manual shifting because I feel in charge of the car. Like you said and Nelson said and I said higher speeds required hands on. I get that.

But in all my cars, Miata, Lotus and GTI they're manuals because Karen and I love driving manuals. If Im racing someone in my GTI and Im faster but they stay just ahead of me because their right finger hits a little paddle I see that as an unfair advantage because all they're doing is mashing the gas and hitting a button.

On the track if I were in a Ferrari Challenge car or some sorta Porsche Cup car I would demand paddle shifting. But since Im in the SLowtus. I enjoy the art of shifting.

Now Kayla on the other hand is having a little trouble getting over her fear of shifting and being out on the streets. So paddles may be a good way for her to be able to have and auto but still have that "feeling" of shifting.

Make her learn manual and everything else will be easy! I was actually supporting your claim Ethan just pointing out why they would need a paddle shift other than it being quicker. Drive a quick ratio rack car at speed...It is not fun and take concentration. Easy to see in F1 cars with the evolution from the H pattern to the paddle. The less you have to do the better and more concentration you can push the vehicle... Still love the H pattern boxes though. Won't own an auto unless I have to such as a diesel truck gotta keep it in boost when towing!
