I bought yellow Lamin-X film for the foglights. It adds some protection from road debris and I didnt have to worry about taking the housing apart to paint the inside... They give off a nice deep yellow tone.

3000k is about the range of soft or warm incandescent light bulbs. It will look more yellowish white to red compared to a strong yellow.

I had the same dilemma as you did.

I ordered the Lamin-X yellow film (great for protection too btw) and then got some yellow gloss paint and did some VERY LIGHT coats over the Lamin-X. It gives off the perfect amount of yellow, and if I ever decide I don't want yellow fogs anymore, I can peel the Lamin-X off to reveal clear OEM housings. I can try to get some pictures tom.

I had 3000k yellow hid fogs once. They were decently yellow for me. I had the ebay set at the time. It would first turn on as green and after warming up, it would shine like the bright yellow sun. Yellow film would be your best bet if you want a darker yellow. My friends found the yellow film from a graphics store.
