Lights

I have had my Acura TL-S for about a year now it has around 170,000 miles and i have four lights on ABS, VSA, SRS, and the "!" Light there were 3 at first i took it to the dealer for a recall and when they did the recall they also reset the lights after driving a while they came back on i would have thought the dealer would have pulled codes and givin me the info but they didnt it seems to shift smooth i have about 2500 to 3000 on new transmission fluid and filter every where i look it says Tranny is failing i have an appointment for diagnostic next week but if there is an issue with the SRS will they fix it free? how should i go about this? any help would be awesome

A good start would be to get the codes read. All those lights on would might be a faulty computer or even simpler some wiring is off or fuse. Don`t do anything until they run that diagnostic. You will be lucky if it is just the computer failing because trannys are expensive.

okay, i took it to acura and they did SRS diagnostic its the driver seatbelt buckle covered under Lifetime warranty just waiting on them to get part in. the VSA,ABS, /!\ lights are caused by a bad ABS Module but they did not go into depth with that because i didnt want to pay them $260 for 1.5 hours of "work"
they said it could be a bad module or bad/broken/corroded wires or connectors how can i go about checking myself? will a testlight work or would i need more then that?

they said its a $2500 fix, i've found several used ones for around $100 i just dont want to buy a used one if its not covered under warranty. it could be a bad part. and also i dont want to waste money on it because i dont know what it is exactly has anyone else had this problem? know how to go about it?

was this car crashed and reborn? Very rare is the ABS pump or other part a fail point
More likely a wheel speed sensor has bad wire- those corrode often
A brake specialty shop will have an ABS code reader and be of more help to you
Acura will charge 1.5 hours and only tell you what the codes say--
but codes are clues = NOT a diagnosis in themselves and the TL often gives false codes!

dealer didnt do full diagnosis the first time because you were not paying for it!

again- if you have no tools skills or ramps- take it to a private owner brake shop- not a big name place = who will do the same routine as the dealer~

If you ask the parts dept how many ABS whatevers they have ever ordered,,probably 0
