parting ways.. farewell to everyone
Hey everyone.. I was a proud owner of an 05 TSX.. for almost 3 years (this June).. sad to say but I am trading it in for an 08 G35x... Although I never got the chance to really talk to you guys.. I enjoyed reading what everyone had to say.. I checked this site regularly and it has become one of my favorite sites... I will truly miss my TSX and I just wanted to say farewell to everyone and goodluck with everything.. this site has been good to me..

congrads! i would do the same thing like you in a heartbeat, but i'm looking for a new job cause my contract job is ending.
MMsTSX did the same thing except he has a TSX and a G35s.
post pics of the G35x!
i think that makes 5 former TSX drivers who traded in their car for a G35.

I originally was going to trade this car in for a 2009 TSX but I was blown away by the G35.. the engine was amazing on the G.. not to say that the TSX is a bad car.. the TSX has been reliable and fun to drive.. the VTec engine has delivered time and time again but there comes a time when you have to make a choice and i chose the G35.. I will miss you guys though.. you guys kept me well informed about aftermarket products and just information in general and I'm grateful for it.. I will post pictures of the new car when I pick it up on Sat. if you guys want.. thank you for everything

Other than the engine, was there anything else that you particularly liked about the G35?
Is the steering on it as tight as the first gen TSX? I have never driven one.

Actually the steering was a bit weird on the G35 for me.. I felt that it was a little unresponsive.. but the handling itself was far better on the G35.. I loved the interior more on the G35 also.. I felt that the TSX had a cheaper interior but it's also $9k less when you look at the MSRP... But i think the TSX has a better transmission... a lot smoother than the G35... The G35 is a little bigger inside..

Enjoy your G35. The VQ engine is amazing( I traded my 04 coupe on my 07 TL-S). They are nice cars. You do know that you can mod the hell out of those cars too, right?

I'm picking up the new car tomorrow but as the time comes closer I get sadder... aren't people usually supposed to be excited about purchasing a new car?! I'm sad.. I feel that I have betrayed my Acura in a way.. she was loyal to me and now I'm just trading her in... I have mixed emotions.. I love the G35 but this was my first car I truly loved..

just keep the TSX, sell it to your relatives or someone then. give it to your spouse if you're married or your folks. i maybe in the same dilemma when that time comes because the TSX was my first new car i bought and paid off with my own money after 2 hand me downs from my folks.

Its a new car still.
Why are you getting rid of it again?
With the current gas prices I think I would have kept it.
Your going to get 24 mpg in the g35....actually less if its awd.
To each his own I guess...good luck.

i think the estimated city for the G35 is 17 mpg on the 08 models.. but i doubt that those numbers are accurate.. i tend to be heavy on the pedal ...my TSX gets only 20 MPG.. must be something wrong

My G35s gets about 4mpg less than the TSX on the same roads.
Sometimes 5 less, but an average of about 4 less.
This week it's: 27.4 for the TSX and 22.9 for the G35s.
I'm been hammering on the G a bit...

We also are moving on, the TSX is my wife's car. She only drove 9k miles in about 1.7 years. It is a nice car, oddly enough she didn't care for it as much as we thought she would. It's on to Subaru Impreza for her. It's not as luxurious but it's super safe & practical.
I also must admit their STI sure has me thinking...
She also only got 20 MPG usually and she didn't drive it hard. Always premium fuel too. That isn't why she wanted out though.
I am surprised Carmax is selling comparible cars for $25k still, they made us a fair offer. A LOT better than the Acura/Subaru dealer did.

I've pondered trading in my '04 for an '08. My '04 has 90k on the clock, and I'd like to start fresh...but at the same time I love my current TSX. It wasn't my first choice in colors (both the interior and exterior), but I have this attachment to it that makes me want to keep it. Since my TSX is at the dealer for a total A/C system replacement, I've been driving an '08 loaner. It's the colors (white exteror, black interior..I don't remember their "official" names) I originally wanted and I find myself wanting the loaner, but at the same time I don't want to give up my '04. I'm not sure what it is...maybe something similar to that it's been a relatively good car and that I've had fun putting on the miles...I don't know!
Anyway...I'm done rambling. Have fun with your G35x!
