Thanks dude.
I love the 8443 so far, great Star DSP (PEQ, Xover control, Time Adj) and 8V pre-outs makes sure the signal is clean. I choose it over alpine 7897 & eclipse 5423. My only complaint is that the non-fader level adj is only available in normal mode, not in pro mode.
I would get the 8443 b/c I don't see the advantage in the 8053. It has no preamp so people claim there's less noise and it has a digital input, but since it DOES NOT come with the balanced line adapter ($80-100) as most people including myself thought it did, I don't think it's worth the extra money.
You can get the 8443 for $399 at Al&Eds while the 8053 is $499. I got the 8443 for $359 w/ 5 yr ESP.

wait balance line adapter is not included??? welll screw that, then I am gonna go with the 8443, now does it have a built in eq? if so how many bands. Also I am thinking of gettin the CD3403 for my RSX to. Should I also just add a eclipse EQ also. Just lookin back u did answer the EQ question. I want my dash to look likes its filled and I was thinking of gettin the eclipse EQ or the indash changer.

dnd2984 - The 8443 is very nice, the built-in PEQ is good enough for me, but if you want more control get a separate EQ. I like this one b/c it's a all-in-one deal with 8V pre-outs and all digital circuitry. As for the mcintosh, a local shop had one NIB left, so they gave me a great deal $1200 otd (no tax).
chris - You have a good eye. I have two 8 gauge wires running to the cap and 4 gauge from the cap to amps. I've been too lazy to re-run a larger wire from the battery, but so far I haven't had any problems although I know it's not the best setup.
