Glove Box Mechanism Fixes

Glove Box Mechanism Fixes
So I had some engine work done after the motor blew on my 2000 TL a while back. The motor/engine works great, it's been running smoothly for about a year now, but the problem is that my mechanic didn't seem to reinstall the glove box correctly. I'm having this problem where I hit the latch to open it, but the compartment doesn't stop where it needs to and all my things fall to the floor. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any guides/kits to fix this problem, or any parts I would need? Thank you!

There is a small plastic lever with a spring inside that stops the glove box from over-extending and also slows it down so it doesn't put pressure on the side bump stops.
Perhaps your mechanic remove it and forgot to insert the small Philips screw that holds the plastic lever in place.
Go to your glove box:
Locate the 2 bump stops on the sides they are pressure inserted
Remove those 2 bump stops on the sides now the glove box can only be stopped by the plastic lever.
If the plastic lever is not installed the glove box will over-extend again, you should install it now! once installed the glove box should stop before spilling its contents also it should feel like it slows down the glove box..
And that's pretty much "IT" its a very simple system.
