and Infiniti has any room to talk with the /G/Z/Murano/FX combo ?? yes.. they are all on the same platform.
And the IS300 being a COROLLA based car, yes, it's true. As is the RAV4
Yes the ES is a Camry/Solara in a lot of respects. Even the same platform in the RX300/330.
Just as the Pilot/Odyssey/MDX is based on the Accord platform as well.
Yes the TL is on the Accord platform, but more modified than the ES to Camry is. Different engine bay and subframe, suspension layout, and others.
Granted "based on the same platform" means it shares some common components, not that it's identical. They can beef up the frame, change suspension parts and engine bay layout, but the specs use a lot of the same stuff.

I happen to own both, an 04 Accord EX V6 and a TL. In answer to the original question, they are nearly identical in size while in the garage. And the EX V6 version offers 95 percent of the car that the TL is. They are equal in performance. The Accord gets slightly better gas mileage. The TL certainly looks better, though. With a couple of exceptions, they have identical features. Sitting in the interior in one makes you feel right at home in the other. Here are the things the TL has that the Accord doesn't. Whether or not those features are worth the $7,400 price difference I paid between the two I will leave as an exercise for each of you individually to take part of:
The Accord has a couple of minor things too:
That's all I can think of off the top fo my head. Let's be honest folks. It really is a "souped-up" accord. But, that's not necessarily a bad thing. As many have said, lots of manufacturers do that, including Lexus. It doesn't take away from the TL one bit, in fact, it was because of how good the Accord is that I even walked into an Acura dealership to begin with.
Many would argue that irrational posturing and attacks on others' intellect because they happen to disagree with you also falls more under the category of idiocy.
- VSA
- sport shift
- DVD Audio
- Bluetooth and HFL Link
- larger nav screen
- HID headlights
- Memory seating
- Better warranty
- No MLD on the Accord (it's integrated with the Navigation system)
- Interior Pop noise from driver's head area in door panel (Yes, that's right, the Accord does not have this problem).
The Accord has a couple of minor things too:
- Ability to see instant gas mileage on the trip computer

The TL is no more modified than an ES 330. The ES is just geared more towards lux and the TL sport.

And IMO, I don't find it to luxurious or glamourous that the G35 and new M45 share the 350Z platform and engine. With the G35, its acceptable since it's an entry level sedan and a damn good one. For the M35 we'll see, but luxury=rareness somewhat and a 45k car sharing a stretched 350Z platform and the same engine in every single product of theirs is not a selling point to me.

It was 6 speed for sure because it had the red v6 emblem as i was merging onto the freeway behind it. That's the last time I saw it's rear end [=

I have an auto Tl and went with a 6MT Accord on the highway from 60-80. THis guy was a good stick driver and we were DEAD even. He may have even been able to take me off the line due to the MT if he didn't spin the tires. The reason? Although Accord has 30 less HP, the coupe weighs less than the TL, and MT almost always weigh less than AT, not to mention MT puts slightly more HP to the wheels. As far as size discussion, they are nearly identical sized interiors. Tl has slightly more width and hip room while Accord has slightly more height and head room both front and back. As far as exterior, my friend has an 03 Accord and I compare it's looks as the "TL's big brother that has overeatin' all his life."

Well Ill tell you right now, as far as the auto tl, it's not the car, it;s the driver. I hung nose and nose with a 92 vett at 125 mph. It's just how you drive it. If you can work the sport shift to your advantage, you can get a nice little edge on anyone.
