I dont have an RL, but my TL is 2.25, and so is the 1st and 2nd generation TSX'.

the 4th gen TL is also 2.25 inches in diameter.

what are you doing? full system? J-pipe? Ricer Mufflers?

I believe the diameters are different through out... my guess is that the stock exhaust is 2.25".
The y-pipe outlet is 1.75", the cat and b-pipe are 2.25", the pipe to the muffler is 2".

Your best bet is to learn the equation for circumference and have some pie.

There's no way it's 2.5 the s2000 oem setup is 2.36 at its widest point and when I pulled the rl exhaust I was flabbergasted at how tiny it was. I'm sticking to 50mm and even less at the rear as it hits the mufflers.
