Drive went pretty well. I'd definitely do it again. I guess the clazzio seat covers provided a little more comfort. Better mpg with the top up but that seems logical. Taught my gf how to drive it so I guess I'll be hiding the keys soon

I don't find much discomfort in driving mine 1.5-2 hours every couple weeks.

I could see going longer, but I may need some type of padding for the seat for a big excursion.. they are stiff.

not to mention the car is pretty loud, even stock, at around 80mph

yea, some of the stuff that rattles in there I'm baffled they didn't change before letting them hit the lots.

the passenger seatbelt rattles against the door panel at certain RPMS.. that's not even a sign of wear, or age... just bad placement lol.

I have to make sure that when a passenger gets out that the seat isn't in a position where it clanks against the roll arches behind the seat..

what a fun car to drive but man its noisy in so many ways lol

Yeah, I'm borderline OCD about making sure the passenger seat belt is FULLY retracted every time someone gets out.

I have a noise I haven't been able to find either...
Ken, your latches tight? I don't get any squeaks from my soft top when up thus far.
Then again, I have the bike chainstays and new straps and pieces of fabric I've glued to offer protection on all the wear points.

I sat in my buddy's S with a newly foamed/covered seats and interior and MAN was his seat comfy!

yea, no telling who sat in my car for 12 years... it could be flatted out.

once my driver's bolster starts showing wear, im getting them re-wrapped with a more custom touch.

better padding w/ suede/vinyl combo.

I like the Panavise mount, lower and you can run the cord more discretely.

Yes sir, but I only use the bluetooth option and I rarely ever charge the phone so it never has a cord. The location is insanely convenient.

Can you guys link me to this? I checked Amazon and they're all windshield suction mounts.

I use an iPhone 4 for music & 5S for navigation .. tired of laying it down in my cupholder or have it on my seat.

They're ok. I'm getting a new soft top (from Robbins) this fall, I'll see what else I can do. And yeah, eventually new seats. I'm thinking a black/blue mesh fabric, similar to what the CR-Z has, very breathable and sporty looking.

Funny story:

My mother rings me last Sunday and says "You're not going to believe this" - hesitant, I asked what's going on?

Turns out, one of her closest friend's husband passed away last November and while they were catching up with one another, she mentioned that he was a major car nut and had left behind a series of cars.

My mom being curious, she asked what they were.

Turns out, he left behind a mint, pristine AP2 S2000 - cliffs:

SSM w/ Red Interior
72,000 miles
Original Owners
No Accidents
All Service Records
Always Garaged
Totally adult owned & unmolested
Totally stock

My mom is going to buy it in August and have it shipped across the country, it's currently located in New Jersey. .

Does she want to sell it? I could use a trip to San Diego.

I really like the idea of the PRHT on the Miata. Here's hoping the next gen MX-5 and whatever replaces the S2000 have them as an option.

Given how much hard tops cost and how little the weight difference is for the Miata, it's so worth it. Again, with the standard softtop as an option still.

vs. a soft top, it's ~50 lbs for the removable hardtop and ~75 for the PRHT.

I have a good reason for mine being upward...I just hit record while it's in the holster so I can drive!

Tyler

You know Ricky Flowers on S2KI? I met him over the weekend, he's coordinating a local track day. Coooooollllll dudddeeee...

Tyler, the other half of that phone holder you need in addition to the modifry bracket is this:

Amazon.com : Panavise PortaGrip Phone Holder with AMPS Adapter Plate : Vehicle Audio Car Mounts : Car Electronics Amazon.com : Panavise PortaGrip Phone Holder with AMPS Adapter Plate : Vehicle Audio Car Mounts : Car Electronics

Modifry bracket here. Too flimsy for my Nexus 7 tablet (I tried) but perfect for a phone.

A lot of people seem to like the S2000 for it's racing heritage and known reliability. I plan to purchase one that I will place under great scrutiny to see if the Honda mystique holds up. I'm very qualified to do so because I'm a mechanic by trade so y'all know I get a lot of pu$$y.

Also, Ken, are you sure? I'm actually on the site and both the panavise and the dash mount seem to only be the bracket and not the actual holder. I had to order mine from amazon, but maybe I missed it.

Bob is the fkng man...
I'm not sure how many of you are also 3G TL'ers but I've got an email exchange going with him and I'm buying/testing his module for my TL to see if I can finally get a reliable sidemarker with blinking ability for us 04-06 owners.

I'm not, I'm letting an experienced upholstery shop near my new house do it. They do a dozen convertible tops a month.

Easy on Tesot sobe guys. Based on what I can see it's a new member from the Middle East. Americans/Canadians and other native English speakers are not the only ones who browse AZ...
